What I love most isn’t even the physical changes (though yes, those happened). It’s that she’s just… in her element now. She cooks legit amazing meals. She’s calm and confident around food. .... to a very friendly fiber and plant focused combat.😊 Studies have shown huge benefits in gut health when people eat more than 30 (!) plant based foods per week. The magic lies in the variety not the total amount. If you are not familiar with the idea - check out the 'American Gut Project' and the studies which have come out of this since 2018. Or look here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/food/articles/plant_points_explained Why do I think this could be beneficial for us? āœØļø Well for starters, who does not want to have a healthy gut? āœØļø Also, more plants usually means more fiber and that seems to help a lot against cravings. āœØļø And finally, with all the meal prep going on for high protein meals, I tend to stick to the same ingredients very often. If you feel the same, this could be a reminder to make a few changes. So what counts towards the 30 items? šŸ„•Vegetables, pulses and legumes šŸŽFruits 🄜Seeds and Nuts šŸ„– grain ā˜•ļø coffee Herbs, if they are not just used in minimal amounts. And lets agree not to use spices here since they are used in such tiny amounts that there would be no benefit from fiber. Although they might be good for your gut- bacteria. Today I'm greatful beeing me! Why? Because despite all the negativ aspects of my life choises and the consequenses around them, I feel blessed that I have found myself. I started to follow a man from the other side of the world, that had resonable thoughts around fitness and health in April last year. I had begun going to the gym already in February but didn't know how to do a proper work out. And I didn't have the resources to get a PT. But with my new job I knew that I had to get stronger. This guy, he asked me why I had pressed the follow button on IG. Oh wow, he held me responsible for my choice.. We chatted for mayby 15-20 mins. I was at the gym and at that moment I felt more alive then I had for a long time! New job, new beginning with the training, someone saw me! ME!! Days later I got the BBB programs, and I followed it for 5 months before my joints and my muscles were too sore to continue lifting weights and I needed to prioritise work. In december I missed all the training, comming home after work just sitting in the sofa, or recliner .. the sorness didn't give up. All bloodtest were good but I felt restless. I wanted to continue the fitness journey. Then I found this community and this was it! The guy that had planted something solid im my mind was there again, holding me responsible - for myself. It wasn't acually about weight or food or looking fit. (That comes second, at least for me) No. It was about what I owe to myself! What picture I want to show of myself to my family. I stumble, I'm processing and progressing. But step by step I will get better on doing whatever it takes to be me. Thanks @Darren Liu for beeing.. you! Todays walk - 5983 steps, and 4,75 km
