Thanks for sharing this thought. It makes total sense. Hope you had a great run!
Updates & commitments
Update: DB training has been good. Skipped Sunday's training because the exhaustion from travelling got to me and I KO-ed with a light fever. Y'all who can do long road trips, big respect. Tues & Thurs sessions were good - showed up, performed: we're holding strong. D-8 to race day. PSA: never skip mobility. The stretching is magic. New things: I found these protein shakes at the store the other day - got a few flavours to try. Let's see how this goes. I signed up at my local gym - 24h access and super convenient locations for me. I've got quite a strength journey coming soon 🙏

Buffalo Chicken Taquitos
Tried something new today, and I'm feeling pretty proud of myself. I love finding different ways to incorporate these tortillas into my life because of the fiber they provide. I used 4 ounces of white meat from a rotisserie chicken.🐔 Added 6 tsps buffalo sauce to the chicken.🔥 Sprinkled a little bit of reduced fat shredded Mexican cheese on each tortilla, totaling 1/4 cup of cheese.🧀 Added the chicken to the tortillas, and wrapped them tight.🌮 Then, sprayed some I Can't Believe It's Not Butter🧈 on them and air fried them at 400 degrees fahrenheit for 5 minutes.⌚ This makes six taquitos. I had just finished lifting weights and was super hungry so the original three I was making didn't look like enough. They're a little dry so I dipped them in salsa, but you could use a little sour cream, ranch, blue cheese, or whatever floats your boat. Here are the macros for 6 taquitos the way I prepared them, but you can definitely mix these up to your taste: Calories- 492 Protein- 48g Fat- 23g Carbs- 44g Fiber- 38g!!! This was a super filling and really delicious lunch. 😁

Vacation Wins🖤
I wanted to share this, because it's a testament to the fact that you can eat all kinds of food and enjoy living while maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Darren recommends incorporating treats into our diet so that we can find a sustainable way of living that allows us to feel both healthy and happy. I want to share my real-life success story of doing just that. In the past, when I went on a vacation I would have stomach issues, gain several pounds, feel bloated and uncomfortable from overheating, and return home with regret over the choices I made which would result in feeling bad about myself and emotionally beating myself up over it. This Disney trip was our first big vacation since I've made this shift in my lifestyle, and I am so amazed by how much of a difference I noticed. Wins: -Stomach issues gone (this alone is life-changing) ✔️ -Lost 2.1lbs and 0.6% body fat (I know these numbers will continue to fluctuate some as they do)💪🏼 -Tried and appreciated every food I wanted to try without guilt🥨 -Mood overall better🧘🏼‍♀️ -More patience with kids (though not perfect of course)👧🏼 -Confident in my appearance = overall more comfortable = better experience🏆 Here are the things I did to achieve those wins: -Steps!!! The power of walking is so underrated. Step count ranged from 13,430 to 24,433 (not including travel days)🚶🏼‍♀️ -Tracked everything I ate in MFP, even when I only tried a bite of something 📝 -Planned for balance. Looked at what foods I wanted to try at each place the night before. If I knew I wanted nachos, I chose to have an apple and a protein shake that morning and skip the Mickey waffle platter I've had many times before⚖️ -Ate slowly and mindfully, stopping before I felt overly full🧠 -Drank lots of water and mostly only water💦 -Prioritized taking time to rest. Averaged around 8.5 hours of sleep/night (not including travel days)💤 -Incorporated my daily apples and protein shakes🥛 -Skipped the foods that didn't feel necessary (didn't just eat it because it was in front of me)🙌🏼

@Faith Helg thank you so much🖤
*next meal normal next meal normal*
I just ate food I did not plan to eat and way overindulged. It's food truck Friday season again here at our local fire dept, and my usual isn't here. I normally get a "koco bowl" from a Korean food truck which has rice, lots of veggies, bulgogi, and a fried egg. It's so good and feels like a treat that's well worth the calories. Unfortunately, they weren't there today, but I knew that ahead of time and planned to make myself something at home while the rest of the fam got food trucks. Well, it was a parking lot full of heavenly smells and I pulled right into temptation station. I ended up eating a little bit of multiple things that included cheesy crab dip, sweet waffle covered in sugar, French fries, and more. My calorie budget was murdered. I know I would feel so much better right now if I had stuck to my original plan. But, I didn't. I can't turn back time. All I can do is make the choice to get over it and next meal normal tomorrow. I just keep telling myself over and over...do not beat yourself up over it, you're human, it happens...but I really wish I hadn't done that. I've been so strong! I feel like I let myself down. Here for encouragement. 😁🙏🏼
