📅 Daily Check-in - July 18, 2026 💭 Reflection: "This morning, I'm in a much better place mentally. This is something i usually tell myself when feeling down or depressed at night is that tomorrow's a new day, things will be better in the morning. Things at least don't feel as bad with a new dawn and a new day ahead. I got to bed about 2 hours late. I believe it was my sadness over the grandkids. When I did sleep, I slept well. Today is a reunion for my younger son's homeschool co-op that he and I are going to. We will both see lots of old friends. Should be a great day, good way to nourish the soul. 📅 Daily Check-in - July 18, 2026 💭 Reflection: "I emailed one of the places handling my contracts with questions on the status of contracts that haven't been finalized yet. Haven't heard back yet but it made me feel better that I did something that I can control. Worked at my part-time caregiving job today and my client reintroduced me to the card game Rummy. We also played some Double Solitaire. It was nice seeing her today. My granddaughter called me today and my grandson yelled, Hi Grandma! I love you! So im pretty sure he's not allowed to have his phone so thats why I haven't heard from him. They have been wanting to stay over and spend time with us. I texted my son to ask but he didnt answer me. My granddaughter called me to find out what he said and since he didnt answer, she said she would ask him. She called back later and said they weren't allowed to come over. 😢 I miss them so much. They haven't been over since they got out of school. Sigh. Understanding that I had no defenses when evening came...
Just did the first part of my Operating Manual and finally saw it: every routine and app I tried collapsed after a few days because they all started at the action level, while the belief underneath stayed untouched. And the phone that "always wins" at night was never a willpower problem. It was design.
