Everything in these countries is uphill. I see why the people look annoyed and sour all the time. I would too if I had to walk uphill everywhere all the time. I have calves and hamstrings of steel after two days of constantly walking up and up and up. But gosh dang is it beautiful. It is really hard to overstate how beautiful these countries are. It’s like a fairy tale come to life. I can’t believe that this really exists. Tomorrow I’m going g to Kings Landing (for real). So what do you wear to match a place like this? I have no idea. I picked Hermes Un Jardin Sur La Laguna because it seems appropriate. Musky floral with a bit of aquatic marine note. It’s a good late summer / early fall scent that sits intimately on the skin and has a lot of hidden depth to it. I’ve worn it for both days and it seems to fit the theme. Any suggestions on what to wear in Kings Landing? I’m thinking something ominous, mysterious, and a little majestic. I have Dracula from Fabled Fragrances. It’s Oud, Amber, dragons blood and Styrax. Open to suggestions. What would you wear?

This opens with a bright splash of bergamot and lemon, fresh and sharp - like the sun hitting a cold glass. Very quickly, the heart blossoms into iris and vetiver, lending a powdery elegance and a subtle earthiness that tempers the citrus. In the dry-down, cardamom and black pepper emerge - not overly spicy, but just enough to add warmth and a soft bite. Projection is gentle but confident: noticeable for the first couple of hours before settling into something more intimate. Longevity tends to be moderate - most people get about 4–6 hours wear on skin, with some stretch into 6–8 hours on clothes if you layer or spray generously. Overall, it’s a classy, elegant scent - less bold than Uomo Intense, more wearable day to day, especially when you want something refined without shouting. Overall rating: 7.9/10. I ain’t usually high on prominent iris scents but this works as does the intense. It’s not the waxy lipstick style iris which is probably why I can tolerate it. I desperately want to obtain the original Valentino Uomo 2014 with the coffee notes but with it being discontinued it’s so hard to find, even the current 2021 reformulation is available in the old Uomo style bottles that don’t have the spikey neck appearance so I have to ask for batch dates if I see a possible candidate, anything after 2018 batch dates will be the 2021 reformulation, so batch date has to be between 2014-2017. Won’t give up though!
