Review and SOTD - Absolu Aventus by Creed
A woody, smoky pineapple with a spicier, sweeter twist on the OG. It has grapefruit, bergamot, pink pepper, pineapple, nutmeg, and cloves giving it a smooth citrus punch with warming spices. In the heart is ginger, cinnamon, cardamom, and rose adding a spicy edge. And in the base it has patchouli, Haitian vetiver, oakmoss, ambroxan, sandalwood, and tonka. It keeps Aventus’s pineapple DNA but adds some sweetness, spices and smoke. It’s not as harsh; more mature, warm, and distinguished than the OG Aventus. It’s a strong performer. 8+ hours longevity with good sillage. It can be worn year round and is fairly versatile. This is a favorite of mine and I highly recommend it.

My current fragrance journey as a 16 yo
Since I was 13 I’ve always wanted cologne to become the best smelling dude in the room. So my collection started off with obvious fakes 😭. Kicked things of with “One Bilion” in an all glass bottle with printed on letters. Then a bunch of other ridiculous names lol. Then one Christmas i was lucky enough to get my first ever REAL designer cologne: Versace pour homme. I love this cologne for so many reasons. Except longevity lol. I originally wanted my uncles cologne Mont Blanc explorer edp. I loved it so much, and it brought presence to the room. My main reason for getting into frags on th first place. But then I got my first job, and bought myself Calvin Klein one. Not that great of a purchase ngl 😭. But then got a few samples from Versace Eros najim. And then got one million royal for Christmas last year! So then that became my favourite cologne that I owned. And still is. And recently I ordered some more Cologne and love all 3! Creed aventus, azzaro the most wanted parfum and Bleu de Chanel edp. But yeah that’s basically me! Thanks for reading if you got this far. Means a lot to me. Aight Kearnsy out boys.

Paradigme by Prada revisited review
#sotd... Paradigme by Prada... I bought Paradigme when it was first released last year. At the time I rated it an 8 out of 10. I figured, let me revisit it today and my thoughts on it since has changed. Not sure if it was the fragrance that had changed or if it was my nose, but I would now give this a rating of 9 out of 10. Definitely is better the second time around. Not that it was bad the first time, just seeing myself reaching for it more often now. I will be picking up the new Paradigme Le Parfum soon.

Last of my PDM samples. I didn’t even realise until I checked today. Before trying it, I was a bit gutted to be ending on a fragrance I had never seen anyone talk about. That changed quickly once I tried it. The opening made me go “wow”. The note breakdown didn’t make much sense to me because right off the bat I got bergamot freshness, sage and lavender aromatics, sweet praline, and warm saffron. Stays the same in the mids with less freshness and the dry down becomes simpler, with the warmth stepping back and a touch of sweetness remaining alongside oud, patchouli, leather, and vetiver. It’s luxurious, warm, fruity, woody, leathery, slightly green, and perfectly balanced. Definitely a cool to cold weather frag. It’s everything I wanted Oud for Greatness to be. This also confirms my oud tolerance. Anything stronger than this feels unnecessary (sorry not sorry @Paul Bartnicki) I don’t think I can give an accurate performance estimate today as my skin is supposedly dehydrated. However, this is roughly a 7-10+ hr fragrance with strong projection for the first few hrs. The sillage and scent trail are excellent too. I really like this DNA and want to explore more fragrances in this space. I don’t want to be blinded by just this one, so suggestions are welcome. I’ve heard Widian Liwa and Ormonde Jayne Muscat sits in a similar realm. Overall, I’m giving it a 9.7/10. It smells objectively perfect. Second only to Cedrat Boise for me. Luckily it’s not popular and has no good clones, so it could easily be a signature scent. I still need to retest performance, but the fragrance itself is excellent. Points deducted for lack of uniqueness and the price tag. Top 3 PDM for me and possibly the first I purchase. Currently it’s a top 10 fragrance of all time for me. What are your thoughts on this?
