I saw the notice about The One Parfum on ifragrance. I’m glad it’s getting an update.
Jomashop Holiday Sale is a disappointment
I just got the email from Jomashop about their holiday sale - $10 off of orders over $180. That's barely 5% discount. Checking the prices, the sale price is what they offer all year round. Some examples: Fragrance World Liquid Brun 100mL: $45.99 - $10 coupon = $35.99, which is what I paid for it a few months ago. Armani Stronger With You Intensely 100mL: $118.99 - 20% sale coupon = 94.95, which is what I've been seeing it selling for on their website for the past year. Aura, when it's in stock, is $89.95, as a reference point for comparison. Xerjoff Naxos 100mL: $231.56 - 20% sale coupon = 185.25, which is what it usually goes for. The tester with a cap, on the same site, is selling for $154.99. It's regularly in the $175 - $190 range the rest of the year. FragranceNet has it for $192 year-round, and they are rarely the cheapest discounter. Hugo Boss Bottled Absolu 100mL: $158 - 24% sale price = $119.89. I usually see it for around the $75 - $90 range when in stock. I got mine last year for $56. Dozens more, it's the same thing. I use a price tracking app to watch these things, and it's eye-opening to see how misleading these sale prices can be. Some of them only amount to $5 or $10 off the regular price, but they manipulate the sale discounts to make it look like you are getting a better deal. Be careful shopping out there, guys. Don't let the FOMO or the rush of the season push you into buying something with a "deal" price that isn't really a deal. Take the time to check around and make sure you're actually getting a good price. These prices will come back around, and it's worth it to be patient. Make sure you are getting a good deal before you pull that trigger on your wallet.

@Henry Clay I found it wasn't limited to just the fragrance people. I saw it with Macy;s too. I was hoping to pick up some new jeans and a couple of shirts. They had them marked down to $34.99, but when I checked my app, that was only $5 off of where they were the rest of the year. I guess it's the economy we live in now. And there's no consumer protection out there since they gutted the agency responsible. I'm beginning to think it's a feature, and not a bug.

@Peter Brown Aura Fragrances, Olfactory Factory, FragranceNet is doing much better these days with better prices and excellent shipping times. For decants, ScentSplit, ScentsAngel (though their pricing has significantly increased as well), Perfuum, and ScentsRush.us are all good options.

Antonio Banderas - The Secret Temptation Now bare with me I know some of these options have been pricey, but I got just the thing that everyone can pick up and costs next to nothing for 100ml ( as least in CAD - $20) and smells incredible. And dare I say it. It is a hidden gem amongst the abundance of fragrances and lead designer houses out there. Only downside so far is perhaps that it is an EDT and doesn't last nearly as long as some other suggestions made (or to be made )so far. Opening immediately with a wonderful aromatic & slightly floral and creamy vanilla with just a touch of sweetness this gives you an immediate aroma sense of class and sophistication As it settles bringing out some of woods and musk giving some earthy & slightly ruggedness making it perfect for just about any occasion, and the ladies will LOVE it. And of course with all great fragrances that must be shared here is yet another discontinued fragrance thought you may want to buy just to have incase and it is definitely one you won't regret! Balmain Bleu Infini vs Dua Infinite Blue
I reviewed Balmain Bleu Infini back in July https://www.skool.com/bos/sotd-sample-of-the-day-balmain-bleu-infini?p=8fc67b81 I decided to pickup the Dua version on their big sale . Opening, the OG starts off heavier in the mossy notes while Dua leans heavier in the clary sage. Both have a little floral and earthiness to them. Salt is very present that gives both frags lift and an aquatic like note. Up close they are kinda the same but now, as it hits the air is where they gain similarities. Once you pull back and you are 6 inches plus away, you know there is a slight diff and you know one is trying to be the other. Going into the mid salt starts to fade along with the opening clary sage and moss for each respectively. Akigalawood starts to show up in both, but with Dua it takes center stage, OG the akigalawood is still backup singer. The moss in the OG is fighting to let go of the mic, but you see it coming. Right around the 20 min mark, in the air I would say Dua is about 75% there but ramping up quick. About 45 min in the get closer in the profile, but kinda stops at about 85%. OG maintanes this earthiness to it, while Dua lets that fade into the back and really smooths out. Rose starts to show up in both, however you do have to focus a bit more in the OG to pick it up. Final thoughts, this is one that is growing on me and I will wear this more than twice a year. Although Dua did not succeed in going 1:1 it definitely did its job in providing an excellent alternative to Balmain. Dua was like a top notch cover band, you know it's not the original group, but you rock out to it and heck you may even like them better than the OG. In this case I prefer the Dua over the OG, but not buy much. I found the earthiness in the OG to be just ever so slightly edgy with me, but not annoying in anyway, Dua just didn't display that. This isn't a blind buy for the OG, you must try it, it's not for everyone. For Dua, if you grab on sale, go ahead and jump as it was only like $20 so no love lost if it doesn't work out
