Musicology fragrance house Not the Prince song. Ever heard of them?
Certain song or a specific smell can instantly teleport you back to a memory? That’s the whole vibe of Musicology. They are a niche fragrance house from France, and their "thing" is treats for both the ears and the nose. Instead of just making a "nice smelling perfume," they treat scents like songs—using "notes" and "harmonies" to create an atmosphere. That’s what attracted me to the house. • The Concept: They believe music and perfume are cousins because they both travel through the air, hit you emotionally, and then disappear. • The Vibe: It’s artsy but relatable. Think of it as a playlist for your skin. • The Origin: Born in the heart of the perfume world (France), bringing that classic quality with a modern, rhythmic twist. What attracted me to the house initially was when I heard they had a fragrance inspired by Frank Sinatra’s Fly Me To The Moon. “Fly me to the Oud” The fragrance is built on a contrast between dry woods, smooth leather, and a surprising touch of sweetness. • Top Notes: Australian Sandalwood and Black Pepper. • Heart Notes: Agarwood (Oud), Leather, and Moss. • Base Notes: Brown Sugar and Patchouli. What to expect • Think of a mix of BR 540 and Oud for Greatness • The Opening: It starts with kick of black pepper and a very smooth, creamy sandalwood. It’s dry and spicy but immediately approachable. • The Mid: This is where the "jazz" happens. The oud is clean and woody rather than animalic. It pairs with a soft leather and moss, giving it a vintage, slightly smoky vibe—think well-worn leather chairs and a dim spotlight. • The Dry Down: The standout feature is the Brown Sugar. It doesn’t make the perfume "cupcake sweet," but it rounds out the sharp edges of the oud and moss, leaving a cozy, lingering warmth on the skin. Performance & Versatility • Longevity: Above average. You can expect 7–9 hours of wear. • Sillage: Moderate. It’s not a room-filler, which fits its "intimate jazz club" inspiration. It creates a nice scent bubble without being aggressive.

EXTRAORDINARY AND DETAILED DESCRIPTION Raúl thanks
Mind Games Opera Mate (1/3)
Right off the bat, I’m starting to lose interest in Mind Games. I’ve had a hot streak of disappointment. The fragrances smell good, but the performance has been pretty poor. This one is no different. The opening is a blend of grapefruit and chestnut. I couldn’t really pick up the labdanum. Within a few minutes it already sits very close to the skin, and that’s when I start getting the crème brûlée, davana, and caramel. If I really dig my nose into the skin, I can pick up a bit of suede as well. The drydown smells like a custardy, sweeter take on Boss Bottled Absolu. Performance is disappointing. It’s basically a skin scent from early on and lasts around 5 to 6 hours on me. Most Mind Games fragrances give me very similar performance and sillage, so this wasn’t a surprise. The scent profile itself is creative and different. Some people compare it to Amore Caffè, but to me it’s not even in the same ballpark. It could have been an excellent gourmand pick if the performance matched the scent. For me it’s an 8.5/10 for the smell and a 4/10 for the performance. I do wonder if it could be a sample issue, even though I ordered from three different decanters. Has anyone else experienced this with Mind Games?

The Gourmand Wars Divisional Finals!!
Hey guys, Joe A. here with another one for ya'! Well, the Divisional Finals are here!!! We’ve trimmed the field down to four monster matchups, and now the pressure really kicks in. These aren’t just sweet scents anymore, these are the fragrances that proved they’ve got power, personality and enough gourmand firepower to survive the bracket. Vanilla and chocolate are both on the line now, and only the strongest will move on! VANILLA DESIGNER LINK HERE (5) Viktor & Rolf Spicebomb Extreme (3) Giorgio Armani Stronger with You Intensely This one feels like a straight-up street fight between two modern vanilla heavyweights. Spicebomb Extreme comes in throwing heat; spicy, smoky, loud and full of swagger while Stronger With You Intensely answers with that sweet, cozy, chest-out confidence that made it a cold-weather favorite for so many guys. One brings the fireworks, the other brings the cuddle attack. Either way, somebody’s going home smelling like defeat. VANILLA NICHE LINK HERE (1) Parfums de Marly Althair (3) Initio Parfums Privés Absolute Aphrodisiac Now this right here is luxury vanilla warfare. Althair is smooth, polished and creamy with that upscale dessert-in-a-tailored-jacket energy, while Absolute Aphrodisiac is darker, deeper and more sensual, like vanilla after midnight with the lights turned low. This ain’t your average sweet fragrance matchup. This is elegance versus seduction, refinement versus temptation. CHOCOLATE DESIGNER LINK HERE
