After seeing a short review by Redollessence on YouTube I stopped by Dillard’s to see if I could grab a sample and to my surprise they had some tester bottles. The fragrance won’t be in store until 5/1 but the lady was nice enough to make me a sample! I also grabbed samples of Musk Therapy and Paragon! While I was in store she sprayed my hand once and all I can say is I was hooked from first spray! This is an amazing fruity, fougere type fragrance with a musky dry down. It’s tough for me to explain because it keeps changing and every change is just as good as the opening. I have no idea on longevity yet but the projection is phenomenal! I can hold my arm straight out and still smell it on my hand from I’m guessing 3ft away. If this doesn’t hit discounters by May 11th when I come home from my cruise this will be the first niche I’ve ever bought at full retail. It’s that good! I've been learning to appreciate this line lately, aquatics were never my vibe, but lately maybe it's the recent heat, but ADG is growing on me. Picked up this whopper 200ML bottle for a bargin. As an edt, I reckoned I could spray away with this one. This classic, is the granddad of the aromatic aquatic genre. Launched in 1996, it was created by the legendary master perfumer Alberto Morillas, said to have been inspired by the the rugged, sun-drenched landscape of the Mediterranean island of Pantelleria. This og composition is a masterclass in balance, opening with a vibrant, zesty splash of Calabrian bergamot, neroli & green tangerine, which give a sense of citrusy energy. As the initial brightness settles, the heart reveals its signature marine accord, masterfully blended with floral notes like jasmine & freesia, alongside spicy hints of rosemary & nutmeg. This salty sea water effect is the fragrance’s core identity. Finally, the scent dries down into a subtle, masculine base of cedarwood, patchouli, white musk, & oakmoss, which grounds the airy aquatic notes with a warm, earthy finish. In terms of performance, Acqua di Giò has moderate projection with a polite sillage, making it a safe choice for close-quarter environments. You can expect 3 to 4hrs on the skin, requiring a midday refresh if you intend for it to carry through an entire evening. With its light, refreshing nature, it is best suited for the spring & summer months, as heat helps the citrus and marine notes project more effectively.
