Givenchy Gentleman Society EDP Ambrée
This one is a spicy, slightly sweet, smoky, resinous, earthy and woody scent. It’s also mysterious, quite singular, attractive, and deceiving because comes across like a discrete not too loud at the opening, but the dry down gets you noticed without being offensive, gets compliments and is long lasting. It’s more appropriate for cooler weather, but for any occasion. Website official notes: Top Notes: Sage, Juniper Berries, Nutmeg Heart Notes: Narcissus, Vetiver, Sandalwood Base Notes: Tobacco Absolute, Balm Essence, Vanilla

SOTD: Moustache by Rochas 30/06/2026
This is a classic aromatic‑woody‑floral, originally composed by Edmond Roudnitska in 1949 and fully reworked into the current edp in 2018 by Nathalie Gracia‑Cetto. It’s not some flashy modern release, it’s refined, mature & designed for quiet confidence rather than loud attention. I was half expecting a dusty old‑school barbershop scent, but it’s actually incredibly balanced: soft rose, cedar, with warm resins, never sharp or synthetic. It sits perfectly between casual & formal, it feels like a proper grown‑up fragrance without trying too hard. The note pyramid unfolds slowly & cleanly. Starts with Bright mandarin orange & pink pepper, it's zesty, juicy, gentle spice, no harshness. At its core, Bulgarian rose & Atlas cedar, surprisingly, the star is the rose, its velvety but never soapy or feminine, cedar gives it structure with a crisp woody backbone. At the base, Benzoin, vanilla & a soft patchouli, for a warm, slightly resinous, smooth finish. This gives a skin‑hugging drydown that stays consistent. It evolves gently, stays linear in the best way, and feels like it was blended by someone who knows what they’re doing. It’s most often compared to YSL Tuxedo & Suits by Fragrance World. The original 1949 Moustache & Tuxedo have the same rose‑cedar‑patchouli DNA, but Moustache is lighter, cleaner, less smoky/heavy, and 1/3 the price. Suits by Fragrance World also takes a stab at Tuxedo, while Suits opens with violet leaf, coriander, sharper black pepper, & leans heavier on vanilla/amber. it’s a sweeter, linear, clone‑style scent. Moustache is more elegant, drier, has a better rose/cedar balance, and feels more natural. Performance wise, Moustache lasts 7hrs, moderate projection then skin‑close; Suits hits a bit stronger with projection, Suits is better value for brute strength, but Moustache wins on quality, refinement, and no‑compromise wearability. My rating 8/10 Scent 3 Longevity 2 Sillage 2 Y/N 1

SOTD: Metallic Musk by Viktor & Rolf 01/07/2026
Haven't worn any spicebomb in a while and was in the mood for some today. Metallic Musk landed in 2025, created by master perfumer Jean‑Christophe Hérault, the same nose behind my beloved Spicebomb Extreme, Spicebomb Infrared, and even Creed Aventus, to name just a few. Straight away you can pick up that beautiful spicy DNA I loved in the original Spicebomb, but here it’s reworked into something lighter: it carries that familiar warmth, but adds a sharp, clean freshness that sits right alongside the spice, a balance that feels both familiar and totally new. The opening hits with a crisp, bright freshness that earns that “metallic” description honestly, a blend of aldehydes, bergamot & elemi gives it a zesty, almost polished‑metal sparkle, immediately grounded by a punch of black pepper that delivers that classic Spicebomb kick. Moving into the heart, the spice builds with cinnamon & pimento, while a soft touch of lavender adds a clean aromatic lift so it never feels heavy or cluttered. The drydown is where the name makes perfect sense: a luminous, radiant white musk forms the core, wrapping you in a clean, sensual warmth, supported by a unique silver suede accord that brings a refined, smooth leather‑like texture. Rounding it off are ambrette & labdanum, adding subtle depth without weighing it down. Compared to the original Spicebomb, this is lighter, cleaner & fresher, it dials back the heavy, rich spices, replacing them with that bright musky‑suede finish, making it far more versatile and wearable even in warmer weather. It shares that same peppery opening with Spicebomb Extreme, but Extreme is darker, boozier and heavier on tobacco, whereas Metallic Musk stays bright & airy. You’ll also spot faint echoes of Versace Eros in the fresh‑spicy start, but this one feels more grown‑up and less synthetic. Performance is exactly what you’d expect from this perfumer: 7+ hours easily on skin, staying warm and present all the way, with a comfortable “scent bubble” that’s noticeable without shouting. It projects well for the first 3–4 hours then settles close, and I suspect it will last even longer once the colder months roll in. Solid, reliable, and fresh enough to earn a spot at number 10 in my rotation.

SOTD Dumont Paris Soprano Ice
Dumont Paris Soprano Ice is a massive hit if you love high-performance freshies with an unexpected twist. It isn't just another basic, generic "blue" scent—it adds a crisp, fizzy chill and a dark undercurrent that punches way above its price point. The Scent Profile Top Notes: Ginger, Grapefruit, Bergamot, Aldehydes (gives it a cold, sparkling, "fizzy" air opening). Middle Notes: Crisp Green Apple, Lavender, Incense, Geranium. Base Notes: Patchouli, Sandalwood, Musk, Amber, Vanilla. Performance & Vibes What it Clones: It heavily pulls inspiration from the YSL Y DNA (specifically twisting elements of Y Elixir and Y EDP), but mixes in an earthy, smoky incense dry-down. It's less synthetic than a lot of clone houses and does its own unique thing. Longevity: 8 to 10+ hours on skin. For a fresh profile, the staying power is elite. It easily sticks to clothes for days. Sillage: Heavy. It starts loud and leaves a serious, multi-foot scent trail for the first few hours before settling into a rich, woody skin scent. Occasion: Incredibly versatile. It’s built for warm weather and summer days, but that heavy incense and patchouli base gives it enough backbone to transition smoothly into a nighttime clubbing or date night scent. If you want a mass-appealing compliment magnet that has a mature, smoky edge rather than a youthful sweetness, this is a solid blind buy.
