When you know, you know… ADP Quercia
I can count on one hand the number of times I got a decant, gave it a test wear, and liked it so much I immediately knew it was for me and ordered a bottle. When it happens it’s like well hello there, where have you been hiding? Well, I found another one: ADP Quercia. Thanks to @George Hernandez for turning me on to this one. When I think of ADP, I think of all those bright citrus classic freshies but this one is very different. At the open I get some citrus but mostly a wave of peppery tangy creamy light sweetness. Some aspects of that peppery tanginess remind me of Dior Homme Sport / Homme 2020 (which I absolutely love) but this one is much more rounded — it has a warm and creamy backbone with a hint of vanilla. It settles into a mossy tangy vanillic tonka that I just love. There’s cardamom in here contributing to the warmth, so between that and the creamy tonka I think this can definitely be a year-round scent. I think it’s relatively versatile - definitely office safe, date safe etc. but probably too heavy for the gym. It feels pretty unique, I haven’t smelled anything like it before (except for the tangy aspects of those Dior Hommes). Performance is actually pretty good, applying to my arms I get whiffs for hours on and off, and at hour 4-5 this settled into a super delicious skin scent of powdery vanilla tonka with a hint of that tanginess. I find this scent profile to be addictive, I can’t stop sniffing it :) I’m so glad I found this one and am happy to add it to my little collection. If you like Dior Homme 2020/Homme Sport and want an interesting twist, give this one a try!
