Sunday Scent of the Day — Santa Maria Novella Acqua della Regina 🇮🇹
For this warm Sunday on Long Island I went with something a little different today — Acqua della Regina from Santa Maria Novella. One of the things I have come to love about fragrance is that sometimes I’m not simply wearing a scent…I’m wearing a little bit of history. I tend to really enjoy Heritage houses and their stories. And this one has quite a story. Santa Maria Novella traces its roots in Florence all the way back to 1221, when Dominican friars began cultivating herbs and preparing remedies. Acqua della Regina came later, in 1533, when it was created for Caterina de’ Medici and taken with her to France for her marriage to the future King Henri II. That is nearly 500 years of history in the fragrance I put on this morning. 😎 The fragrance itself feels remarkably appropriate for a warm summer Sunday. It starts with a beautiful combination of Italian citrus, neroli and petitgrain, but there is also lavender, rosemary and clove underneath that gives it a fresh herbal and slightly spicy character. What I like most is that it doesn’t smell “modern” in the usual sense—and I mean that as a compliment. There is something wonderfully clean, elegant and restrained about it. The citrus isn’t particularly sweet. It feels greener, brighter and more natural, with the herbs and spices giving it just enough character as it develops. It’s one of those fragrances that reminds me why I enjoy Heritage houses so much. I certainly appreciate new fragrances and new ideas, but there is something pretty special about enjoying a composition whose story reaches all the way back to Renaissance Florence. A quiet Sunday, beautiful weather, nowhere I need to rush… Acqua della Regina feels just about perfect today. 😎🇮🇹

This is a house that has been popping up a lot more lately. I am intrigued, especially because of the history.

@Jeffrey Plotka can’t wait to test them
Chinese Experiment
Ok guys I know this is a fake, but it was 45 bucks for a discontinued fragrance. I was feeling froggy so decided what the heck. Let’s see how this goes. Took maybe 2 weeks and just got it today. I have to say this presentation looks pretty legit. The QR code on it even went to the amouage website. Did a test spray and smells pretty close to what i remember, like a citrusy rose scent. I will further review it on a full wear, but I am pretty impressed by the quality of fakes now. Stay safe out there with your buys, if its this easy to get a high quality fake like this, you just never know nowadays. Also if we ever meet and I smell like a citrus rose, mind ya business. 🤣🤣🤣 Stay smelling great my brothers.

Help Me Improve This — Then Grab the Deal Before It Goes Public 😏
Guys — I need your help. I’m getting ready to share this House of Dastan Discovery Set offer publicly, but before I do, I want the Brotherhood of Scent to take a look at these designs and tell me what could be better. The offer is: 1. Get the $300 Discovery Set for $150 with code RMRS150 2. The $150 you spend becomes a $150 credit toward a full-size House of Dastan bottle I’ve attached 3 versions of the graphic. Please help me improve them: Which one explains the deal most clearly? Is anything confusing at first glance? What would you change to make the offer easier to understand? Does the link work for you? Does RMRS150 apply the discount correctly? 👉 http://www.HouseOfDastan.com/RMRS150 And since I’m sharing this with you guys before I share it publicly, feel free to take advantage of the deal now !

Third pic is the best one in my opinion, but the explanation on the first one seems easier to follow.
SOTE - Myrrh Delight
Dua's version of Dries Van Noten Rock the Myrrh. This is a pretty a good dupe, very close to the OG. In the air, won't be able to tell the difference. The OG is just more fit and finished, is it worth the cost delta? That is for you to decide.

Love the OG for sure, Dua does a good job of getting you there
What's the one house/line?
If you're anything like me, you must have experienced this at some point where you really wanted to like either the house or the line. And no matter how many times you sniffed it, you're like it's a pass. For me there's more than a few, but it's definitely YSL and Le Male. Don't get me wrong. I've smelled both on other people and was like oh that's intriguing and then every time I smell it either on strip or on my own skin I'm like: Nope. Also Aqua de Gio - but that's because it gives both me on mywife an instant heafache. So I think it's just more a concentration)ingredient issue. I used to have the same thing with Boss - and then Bottled got me and I'm slow warming up to the scent line. So I'm wondering if anyone else has that same experience where you really want to like a fragrance line or house and they just kind of never do it for you. And as a follow-up bonus, when has that been proven wrong for you? Just thought this might be an interesting convo for a Sunday evening or Monday morning or Tuesday afternoon. Stay sniffty my friends!
