Premiering Zara Vanilla Collection 02 Cold Caramel
Website Notes: Top notes: Spiced caramel Heart notes: Tahitian orchid and tonka bean. Base Notes: Bourbon vanilla and amber. People compare it with Casamorati Lira and Kayali Vanilla | 28. (Haven’t done a side by side to tell how close they are.) to my nose, perfectly unisex. The opening hits with a sweet and ambery punch, but very quickly introduces herbal/floral nuances that freshens and balances the sweetness, providing a very well blended and alluring scent on the dry down. The sweetness from the caramel accord it’s not syrupy or cloying. But the tonka/orchid combination shines over that caramel, while the vanilla and the amber accords rounds the scent with sophistication and depth. This is a beautiful fragrance that gets compliments, more suitable for cooler weather, night outs, date nights, and special occasions. Projection and longevity are pretty good.

Sounds like a winner. How would this compare to Liquid Brun or MB Club Black?

@Eduardo Figueroa Oh ok, nice! Thanks
SOTD: Ahuja Honey Tobacco
With nearly a foot of snow on the ground and temperatures just peeking out of the 30s, this was an easy reach. This combines two of my favorite notes and does it right. Given that it’s an extrait the performance is excellent. Looking forward to smelling this all day long.

Looks like its similar to Guerlains Tobacco Honey. Bottle presentation is pretty good!
SOYD - Good Morning by Jusbox
This is my continuation of testing the 16-scent Jusbox discovery set. Today it’s Good Morning, the classical music inspired citrus-forward freshie. I have a love / hate relationship with Louis Vuitton fragrances. When I started caring about scents, which was surprisingly recently, LV were aspirational. The price point was restrictive, but the smells were top tier. Imagination? The best scent ever, right? I tested a fair few, at my local boutique. And I fell, quite hard, for Afternoon Swim. The orange note at the top was hyper realistic, and as orange is my favourite fruit then a bottle of this was a no brainer. Alas, as with most of their LV line, the performance was lacking. I never expected the fabled Beast Mode, but I did want a little bang for my buck rather than a wet fart for my wonga. I did not buy, but I never quite scratched the orange itch. I pay attention to new orange-forward offerings. And now, happily, I’ve found something that I think will fit that wonderful bill. Say hello, Good Morning. It comes strong with a fabulous orange citrus start, paired with a tang of saltiness that sharpens the edges and prevents any syrupy concerns. It’s bright, it’s fun, it’s clean… and, on my skin, it lasts. Not for a nuclear length, but it was still projecting and performing at four hours plus before it sidled into the mid and endgame. And it was there where I found the developmental intrigue that elevated Good Morning from a cursory nod of acknowledgement to a warm hug from a firm friend. Once the citrus blast fades, which we know and expect from scents in this category, it melts into a smooth floral and almost woody musk that feels refined and elegant and serene. It feels a departure from the original juicy roundhouse kick, but the transition is well handled and blended, and the resultant close coziness is delicious. Such a surprise, but a happy one for sure. I like this fragrance a lot, and it’s priced at the cheapest tier of the house’s line. I do own a 7.8ml travel spray of this, but once that goes I’m sure I’ll be saying YES to a full presentation.

This sounds good! I like Afternoon Swim as well, so Im putting this on my list to test. Thanks!
Is there a fragrance that makes you feel fresh?
I've noticed many times that certain scents can make people act differently or feel better, so I wanted to ask if you know of any fragrance that makes you feel fresh.

Replica Sailing Day, Bvlgari Aqua Marine, Creed Silver Mountain Water, LV Imagination, D&G Light Blue 2025, and Acqua di Parma Buongiorno.
SOTD: Parfums de Marly Layton
It’s cool and rainy here today. A stark contrast to yesterday’s 86 degrees and sunny weather. The gloom has set in forcing us all to pay penance for yesterday’s summery day. Or is it a respite? It depends on your perspective. The one I immediately thought about when considering today’s fragrance was Layton. Sure its not your typical adverse weather fragrance, if thats a thing, but I figured a nice spicy vanilla apple pie fragrance would lighten my mood which has since matched the environment. Apple, smooth vanilla, floral and ambery. It smells comforting and calming. Maybe I should wear blue… lol
