SOTD: Neroli Portofino by Tom Ford 12/10/2025
Another Tf Sample Neroli is a unisex Aromatic/citrus fragrance from the Private Blend Collection. Created by perfumer Rodrigo Flores-Roux & released in 2011, its a bright, clean & transportive scent profile. It opens with an invigorating burst of fresh, crisp citrus. The dominant note is Tunisian neroli, which is a floral/lightly green scent derived from bitter orange blossoms. This is complemented by Italian bergamot and a hint of lemon, creates an effervescent, uplifting opening. As the fragrance settles, the citrus notes that remain but are joined by other floral elements. Orange flower & a beautiful jasmine add a touch of sweetness & a clean, soapy quality. I swear there is a dose of ambroxan in here but I cant even find it in the list of ingredients. The fragrance dries down to a clean, warm, musky base. The amber undertones & white musk provide a soft, silky layer that gives the scent some depth & helps it to linger on the skin. It's a classic cologne structure that has a luxurious feel. Imthinking this could be the Italian version of Costa Azzurra? A sun-drenched, carefree summer vacation on the Italian Riviera. Performance is ok at about 5 to 6 hrs, but the projection is like 90m then its gone. Considering the price, this aint right. They really should be able too do better. Its a total diservice to a beautiful fragrance. My Rating: 6.5/10 Scent: 2.5 Longevity: 2 Sillage: 1 Y/N: 1
