My buddy Steve Giles called this color of gaberdine trousers Cary Grant grey. That made me chuckle but I get it. This classic deep double forward pleat is a staple design that I picked up several months ago from him. Let’s try this again. I attempted to post this earlier, but it seems to have disappeared. I grew up in a family who made their living from the land; logging, fishing, and farming. There was a period where the only reason we had meat on the table and fresh meat and vegetables was my grandpas ability and willingness to pass down the skills to hunt, fish, and grow our food; however, these are not the only lessons learned from a simple man who became a man much sooner than most today ever will. Many of these lessons I think are very fitting for this group. •Treat everyone with respect, even though true respect is earned. • Have enough respect for yourself and others to be presentable when you’re in public. Even if you’re doing something as simple as the grocery store, be cleaned up, put together, and presentable. Even if that just means clean and well mended clothes and brushed hair, be presentable. • Do your best to dress for the occasion. Everyone needs to have the ability to clean up. It’s not about impressing, it’s about respect. • Buy quality items and take care of them. • “Manners maketh the man”. Okay, that’s from “The Kimgsmen”, but he was very set on manners, especially around ladies. I know I'm missing a lot, but these are some of the main things that, I think, society is currently missing, but groups like this are living up to. A couple pictures of Grandpa included.

I had a few clients calls which allowed me to get into a suit and press the sartorial buttons a bit. They resulted in the rare new client agreement during summer, allowing me to classify that these calls were well worth the effort. • Suit — SJ-017, SL-026 (Suitsupply): A mid-blue Suitsupply P7004 suit in a summer-weight wool, silk, and linen plain weave, pairing the half-lined natural-shouldered jacket with high-rise side-adjuster trousers. The matte cloth and subtle pattern scale keep it business-formal enough for the video conference while the fabric blend reads lighter and more relaxed than worsted wool. • Shirt — DS-048 (Charles Tyrwhitt): An ivory Charles Tyrwhitt non-iron twill dress shirt in soft 2-ply cotton, cut slim with a classic point collar and French cuffs. Its clean, pattern-free front and formality score of 5 make it a crisp canvas for the textured shantung tie and statement cufflinks. • Undershirt — US-019 (Sene): A slate-blue Sene crew-neck undershirt in heavy Supima cotton and elastane. Under an opaque ivory dress shirt, it adds comfort and structure without competing visually with the tailored layers. • Tie — NT-057 (Rampley & Co): A blue, cream, and ecru striped Rampley & Co shantung silk tie, 3-fold, self-tipped, hand-rolled, and intentionally textured. The matte slub of the shantung keeps the suit from feeling flat on camera; tie it in a clean four-in-hand to suit the classic point collar and the tie’s thicker hand. • Pocket Square — PS-041 (Fort Belvedere): A Fort Belvedere silk-wool pocket square in mohair blue with a burgundy, green, and yellow medallion-and-paisley border. The semi-silky hand and hand-rolled, hand-screen-printed finish give it a refined but slightly softer presence than the darker PS-040, making it a better match when you want the pocket square to echo blue tailoring while adding a warm burgundy accent. A puff, crown, or upside-down puff fold would show off the border nicely without making the square look too formal.
