I lost a screw in my other new pair of glasses so I had to run out and get them fixed. I threw on the green brocade waist coat, the vintage batwing tie and the Gorin Bros. Narrow Brim to leave the house and go to the shop. And of course I had to wear the sunglasses as the other pair needed repair.

We had to let go of one of our employees today. It's never a wonderful day, but it was necessary to progress. I was heartened to hear from my other employees how they very much supported my decision and approach given the opportunities we provided to the employee for rehabilitation. It changes my immediate composition, going from 2 of us to just me. That doesn't change my approach to how I will dress in the office. Video calls with clients, vendors, and now interviews are a regularly scheduled facet of the job and we get last minute requests for VC on a regular basis. Friday Low-Wear Focus: NT-061 entered today with zero recorded wears, satisfying the Friday requirement. The restrained blue, charcoal, and black foundation allows its pistachio, burgundy, navy, and gold details to provide controlled color. - Shirt — DS-041 (Charles Tyrwhitt): A slim-fit, non-iron cotton-twill shirt in a light-blue, navy, and cream Prince of Wales check. The classic point collar, rounded two-button barrel cuffs, and clean pocketless front provide polished business formality without requiring cufflinks. - - Undershirt — US-004 (Pro Club): A navy cotton crew-neck undershirt in size XL, with mid-bicep sleeves and a roomy, comfortable fit. Its light drape and printed label keep it unobtrusive beneath the patterned shirt. - - Trousers — SL-001 (Hugo Boss): Tailored black wool odd trousers with a subtle light-gray pinhead weave and 1.3-inch cuffs. Their business-classic formality provides a clean base for the patterned vest and tie. - - Vest — VWC-006 (Hart Schaffner Marx): A charcoal-and-light-gray wool herringbone vest with five dark-gray buttons and a left chest pocket. Its texture differentiates it from the trousers while maintaining a cohesive grayscale core. - - Tie — NT-061 (XMI): An American-made three-fold black silk tie with pistachio, navy, gold, and burgundy geometric details. A neat Four-in-Hand keeps the knot proportional to the point collar while giving this previously unworn tie its first recorded use. - - Pocket Square — PS-023 (Mansphil): A compact 10-inch silk square with blue, light-blue, and navy paisleys against black. A controlled puff fold shows the blue pattern in the vest’s chest pocket without overwhelming the tie. - - Belt — B-001 (Hanks): The black Highland lined-leather belt has stitched edges and a stainless-steel buckle. It aligns cleanly with the black shoes and other dark leather accessories. - - Footwear — DSh-001 (Stacy Adams): Black burnished-leather cap-toe Oxfords with a patterned heel, round toe, and rubber sole. Their conservative shape supports the business look, although the vamp becomes slightly tight late in the day. - - Socks — DSo-010: Italian over-the-calf dress socks in midweight compacted cotton, combining gray with a subtle light-gray shadow stripe. The matte finish and restrained pattern provide business-classic texture while remaining understated against dark trousers. - - Watch — W-011 (Invicta): The 42mm Ocean Voyage automatic combines a turquoise sunburst dial with a polished gold-tone case, rotating bezel, and bracelet. Its gold and turquoise accents supply personality while connecting with the tie and eyewear. - - Ankle Watch — W-001 (Apple): The slate-titanium Apple Watch is worn on the ankle solely for health and activity tracking. It is not a visible element of the outfit. - - Pen — P-006 (Montblanc): The Meisterstück 149 fountain pen features glossy black precious resin, platinum trim, and a medium 18K gold nib. Its substantial proportions make it an executive-grade writing instrument. - - Wedding Ring — R-001 (Ellie’s Jewelry): A platinum wedding ring set with diamonds. It remains the consistent personal-jewelry element. - - Business Card Case — BCC-001 (Fort Belvedere): A structured black German aniline-leather case with rippled texture, green goat-velour lining, and silver clasp hardware. The green interior quietly echoes the tie’s pistachio accent. - - Leather Carry — CRY-003 (Montblanc): The black 4810 Westside double-gusset briefcase uses printed calfskin, gunmetal hardware, and a structured attaché silhouette. Its organized interior accommodates documents, writing instruments, and a laptop up to 16 inches. - - Wallet — WL-001 (Montblanc): A black Italian calfskin bifold with carbon-fiber print and eight-card capacity. Its streamlined finish remains consistent with the belt, shoes, and briefcase. - - Fragrance — FR-011 (Roberto Ugolini 4 Rosso): A rich amber-floral composition blending spices, florals, vanilla, woods, and warm amber. Applied lightly, it complements the outfit’s burgundy and gold notes without overpowering a video-call workday. - - Eyewear — EW-004 (Randolph Concorde): American-made aviator sunglasses with polished 24K-gold-plated frames and polarized gray glass lenses. The gold frame reinforces the watch and tie accents while the gray lenses connect to the vest.

Looking sharp Jason. If it's about available money I get it. If it's about bad performance or core values don't feel bad. It's best for the group.
Learning from a funeral
I had to attend a funeral mid-morning, so I wore my blue blazer to work today. When I first got re-established on this sartorial journey several years ago, this blazer - I learned that this was a great piece to add early on - was my first real purchase. I was learning about fit and how you can have things adjusted to find that fit. This was the first time I attempted those steps. Because of that, I felt good about myself every time I put it on. Over time, my style changed and grew, as did my wardrobe options. I leaned on those newer choices more and didn't wear the blazer as much. Today was the first time I put it to use in a while. Putting it on, I viewed it through the lens of the knowledge I've gained, especially through this community. I still felt good when I put it on, but I now recognize how things could be better. For now, it will stay in my closet. It still works good enough for those occasions when I might need it. But my mindset is already moving to finding a better option sometime relatively soon and putting what I've learned into being able to put my best foot even further forward. This blazer was a fantastic first step. But now I'm ready for the next step.

I started stepping up after my Dad's funeral late 2022. Had worn suit for 1st interview for police officer way back in. 1999 but never felt comfortable in it. Leadership class in 2018 bought two suits which felt much better better. Still didn't know anything until finding RMRS.
