Bring on the suede! Great boots. I’ve been contemplating chukka boots in a sand colored suede.

CW = Critiques Welcome! Fun week with nearly all of the goals done. Quiet office today, however, as I am the only in it. Outfit • Shirt — DS‑011 (Paul Fredrick): A cobalt blue double pencil‑stripe stretch dress shirt in cotton‑spandex, finished in a smooth non‑iron weave. The crisp vertical striping provides structure and visual lift under a navy jacket while remaining comfortable for a full leadership workday. • Undershirt — US‑003 (Pro Club): A heavyweight white cotton crew‑neck undershirt that offers excellent opacity control under the striped dress shirt. Durable and dependable, it keeps the shirt cleanly presented throughout the day. • Slacks — SL‑009 (Santorelli): Tan wool slacks with a faint medium‑brown check, tailored for clean drape and natural movement. The warm neutral base balances the cooler blues above, grounding the outfit in business‑appropriate contrast. • Odd Jacket — DOJ‑007 (Ralph Lauren): A navy wool blazer with a slight sheen and classic brass buttons, cut in a structured silhouette. This jacket delivers executive authority while remaining versatile enough for internal leadership and client‑adjacent settings. • Tie — NT‑030 (Kirby Allison): A silk tie in rust and navy with medium‑scale paisley‑inspired motifs. The warm rust tones echo the slacks and belt, while the navy anchors the tie to the jacket for cohesive color storytelling. • Belt — B‑010 (Magnanni): Caramel‑brown leather belt with subtle tonal variation and a silver buckle. Its warmth aligns perfectly with the slacks and shoes, maintaining leather harmony across the outfit. • Footwear — DSh‑007 (Allen Edmonds): Chocolate‑brown cap‑toe Oxfords in Goodyear‑welted leather. A classic executive shoe choice—serious, refined, and perfectly suited to business‑formal or high‑polish business‑classic environments. • Socks — DSo‑063 (Fort Belvedere): Over‑the‑calf cotton socks in mid‑brown with a blue shadow stripe. The stripe subtly ties back to the shirt and jacket while remaining discreet and professional.

@Banjo Piggott Wright Thanks, BP!

@Dave Potier, thank you for both sides of the equation. You’re totally right on the sleeves, and I exacerbated it by wearing a jacket with sleeves just a touch short and a shirt that has sleeves easily too long. I think that shirt may make it to the donation pile (for many reasons).

So I came upon this coat and trousers ensemble today and was especially intrigued by the weight of the trousers. They are somewhat high waisted and heavy, and will need to be altered. Surprisingly, the three-roll-two jacket fit perfectly. The label inside the jacket says Mister Guy, which advertises itself as a fine men’s clothing store in St. Louis. I really don’t know how to describe the wool cloth or the pattern, but I cannot wait until next fall to put together an English/country outfit in the spirit of @Brian McGuire. Oh, and forgive the polo shirt…I was trying to hurry and get photos. Coat and trousers like new…$18.00. So, as I study the pics, I probably needed to stand up straighter. It would make the shoulders fit better and shorten the sleeves. It was a long day! 🥴

@Brian McGuire My phone might just zoom in more, as I had to really look when Chad noted a color. It wasn’t until the final pic that I saw the color. Maybe it’s a sneaky PoW
O’sOTE - Saturday 21 March
We headed out to out Jazz Evening and also had dinner. Was a very nice night. Nicole wore a Dreess I got her for Christmas and I went with the outfit I showed last night but didn’t wear the hat at Nicoles request. We sat next to another couple at the concert and they mentioned that it was nice to see people dressed well to go out, then as we were leaving a pair of younger males said that “we made them feel underdressed”. Nicole took this as a snide remark, but I just replied with a ‘Thankyou kindly fellas” and just kept walking. I did get a snippet of one of the Louis Armstrong songs and one from Frank Sinatra. The music was amazing, the singing did get better as the evening progressed, mind you when you are competing with what people think about when those to Jazz legends are mentioned you are really up against it. On a plus, Nicole did ask if I know what else was played there, I showed her the app and she was all excited about being to go out and dress up. Hope you all have an amazing Saturday, I am about to go to bed 🥱

You two not only make a very endearing couple but genuinely seem happy in these photos. Getting her wanting to come back for more so the two of you can get dressed up and enjoy more music together: that’s the win.
Casual Linen Pants
Hi all. I am nearing the point where shorts are just not something I prefer to wear. I am blessed with good legs, I live in an area where shorts are both ideal for warm summer days and socially acceptable in way too many areas. I have four pairs of Chinos. They serve their part but are a bit bland when it’s that or jeans. Chinos are better than jeans on warm days, so that got me thinking about other casual pants for warm weather. So, I have two questions. First, if anyone has now or previously had casual linen pants, how well do they work for warm days. Second, does anyone have a brand they recommend? Many thanks!

@Anthony Buntyn, thanks for the feedback. That’s pretty much my use for shorts now.

@Chad Smith ah! Very helpful info! I presume given their nature as airy, they would not be lined in the crotch?
