It pretty much rained all day today for our first day. We only had the chopstick 🥢 Making class booked for toda, so that was a good thing. We were going to visit a temple but the rain out a stop to that. Instead we hit one of the stops we were going to do tomorrow and grabbed some of the crazy snacks that Japan has. Tomorrow I am going to the Seiko Museum, that should be great, and hopefully get Clark Repaired while in the vicinity. The Uniqlo photo I had to take as the store has 12 floors, all uniqlo. So crazy. We also hit a Starbucks for out coffee hit, atleadtnwe know the quality of that and it's not a surprise 😉 Anyway, post more tomorrow. To days outfit consisted of M.J. Hey all, I will still be around popping in and out as I can over the next 3 weeks depending on internet and WiFi access. My family and I are off to Japan for 3 weeks as of tomorrow 1055am Sydney time, and back on Saturday 10th October. I do plan on taking many outfits, eat all the foods I can and take many cultural photos. I have also packed my Black Tie 3-piece suit to get some fun photos on the cruise portion of our trip. Fedora season is finally here in Wisconsin. One of my favorites is this early 1950s Knox Foxhound fedora which was more aimed at a sporting outdoor style. The ribbon is not the typical satin as found on a dress fedora, but rather a very wide yellow/orange ground that helps break up the substantially high crown. The fur felt is extraordinary in a toupe color. Paired with a vintage harris tweed action jacket, with back vents made for easier shooting, gentleman hunting or an afttenoon of Skeet shooting. Vintage Robert Talbott ancinet madder tie. As an older gent, when wearing this style of glasses and this outfit I have a very strong, erie and uncomfortable resemblance to my grandfather circa 1955. But I am bravely posting anyway.

Sometimes life throws you a win that you really didn’t see coming. Since I started posting on instagram daily, playing at Mens Style Influencer, at the start of this year, I’ve been incredibly lucky to land a few collaborations—from the legends at OTAA and Yiume to the great deals at Sparrods & Co and my local go-to, Civic Shoes. But today, things went up a gear. Milton, the owner of Civic Shoes in Baileys Arcade, Canberra, called me up with a bit of a challenge. He’s designed his own line of Oxfords for the corporate world—the kind that are actually comfortable. He watched enough people scootering and walking to work in sneakers carrying their dress shoes and decided to fix it. He’s created these beautiful Oxfords—black, brown, and this custom color he mixed himself (a bit of a mahogany-oxblood blend). The leather is soft right out of the box and the soles are flexible, like a pair of runners. Since I told him I’m heading to Japan soon and plan on clocking about 20k steps a day, he reckons I’m the perfect "case study" to see if they can handle the heat. He handed me a brand new pair to put through the ringer. I gave them a quick condition with Saphir Renovateur and a light polish on the toe just to get them ready. They’re fully resoleable and come with Topy protection, so they’re built for the long haul. For $349 AUD ($250 USD), these are absolute crackers. To be given a pair as a "use case" study by the shop owner himself? It’s not something I ever imagined I’d be doing when I started this journey. Cheers, Milton! Currently flying to Japan via Manila, we also managed to snag an upgrade to Business, though my seat doesn’t work. It was my daughters seat, we switched though and she can now lay down and sleep.
