Said in the American date format, it is six-two-six-two-six ;-) One major team meeting already done for the day and my business partner come in live for a catch up in a few hours. The office staff are beginning to plan for various employee and contractor holidays/vacations, and this is good. As a workaholic, I hardly ever take time off. As a psychologist, I know that someone who takes their full vacation time each year is more productive across the year than someone who takes no vacation. In terms of hours, it makes little sense. In terms of psychological health, it makes tons of sense. Encourage your employees to take off time to reset, revitalize, and reinspire themselves. Set the example by doing so yourself (and then secretly check in with few people knowing!). On a sad sartorial note, I just saw an email from Raphael at Gentleman's Gazette that their printer of silk and wool is going out of business, thereby ending sales of several beautiful products from Fort Belvedere. On complete coincidence, the pocket square I am wearing today - which I just received from FB - is one of these discontinued items. FB does a great job of printing beautiful silk pocket squares in a full size so that it stays up in the pocket. The colors are both rich and lustrous, but sedate given the type of printing conducted. I also have one of the ancient matter pocket squares, and it frankly is not dissimilar from the current square's aesthetic. I know we all cannot invest in the best quality products and we have to select which items we invest our money into. And yet, I firmly believe it is us - the customers - who are the only ones that can ensure the survival of sartorial artisans. Consider what you value in this field and invest. Many of us love shoes - make sure to invest in the great shoemakers you love directly. The big watch makers probably don't need your money, but smaller artisanal horologist do! OK, speaking of investing, my Friday outfits always include selecting outfit items with some of the fewest wears. The does include a brand new watch for me, from Swiss watch maker Mido, as it has zero previous wears!
