Another day of internal meetings and project work. The outfit was designed to match. It is the first time in months I have worn one of the contrast collar/button/packet shirts in a while. Given the simple black and white color scheme, it seemed like an ideal day to break it out.

The Core

Shirt: Today's Paul Fredrick white stretch dress shirt (DS-006) features a cotton-spandex blend that offers all-day comfort with subtle black contrast details on the inner collar, placket, and cuffs. The point collar pairs well with my tie knot while the barrel cuffs keep the look clean and professional for video conferences.

Trousers: The Hugo Boss black pinstripe wool slacks (SL-001) deliver a sharp, tailored silhouette with their regular cuff and subtle light gray secondary tone. These are go-to dress trousers that anchor the outfit with classic business formality.

Vest: My Hugo Boss Super 120 wool vest (VWC-001) in black adds a refined third layer that elevates the video-conference presence without requiring a jacket. The four-button front with black plastic shanks and silver rear buckle provides a slim, formal profile.

The Tie & Accessories

Tie: The Fort Belvedere gray silk tie (NT-022) features vertical black lines that add visual interest without competing with the shirt's contrast elements. The 2.5" blade width keeps proportions modern and VC-camera friendly.

Collar Clamp: A platinum-plated collar clamp (TA-001) provides a subtle rise to the tie knot, giving a bit of accent. The clamp-style back ensures a secure hold throughout the day.

The Watch Story

Left Wrist – Stührling Skeletal Automatic (W-007): This 44mm (my largest by far) dress automatic features an elaborate white skeleton dial with engraved scrollwork and cathedral hands on a black alligator-embossed leather strap. The polished stainless steel case and display caseback make it a conversation starter for in-person meetings.

Ankle Watch – Apple Watch 10 (W-001): The titanium Apple Watch serves as my functional daily driver, handling notifications and health tracking while remaining discreetly positioned. This allows the mechanical watch to take center stage on the wrist.

From the Ground Up

Footwear: Stacy Adams black Oxford dress shoes (DSh-001) provide classic formality with a clean, traditional silhouette. These are reliable workhorses that pair seamlessly with black wool trousers. These basic Oxfords are very unrefined in construction and materials, likely making this a candidate for donation. That said, they still look solid. Basic care and trees, with a large shoe rotation, has extended their "new" appearance long beyond what I expected.

Socks: Bresciani black and grey houndstooth over-the-calf dress socks (DSo-099) in Italian cotton lisle offer premium comfort with hand-linked toes. The subtle houndstooth pattern at a scale of 2 adds sophistication while remaining business-classic appropriate.

The Supporting Cast

Belt: The Hanks black leather belt (B-001) features flat construction with edge stitching and a classic buckle closure. It's a straightforward, reliable choice that matches the black Oxfords without drawing attention.

Business Card Carrier: My Fort Belvedere bifold business card carrier (BCC-001) in black German aniline leather with green goat velour interior makes exchanging cards an elevated experience. The silver metal clasp adds a refined touch for in-person client interactions.

Pen: The Montblanc Meisterstück 149 fountain pen (P-002) in precious resin with platinum trim is the quintessential executive writing instrument. Its high-gloss black finish and classic spring clip make it as much a statement piece as it is a functional tool.

Ring: My platinum and diamond wedding ring (R-001) from Ellie's Jewelry is a daily constant. It fits securely yet removes easily when needed.

The Invisible Foundation

Undershirt: A True Classic white crew neck undershirt (US-001) provides a clean, smooth layer beneath the dress shirt. The snug fit prevents bunching while maintaining a seamless appearance.

The Finishing Touch

Fragrance: Creed Aventus (FR-016) rounds out the ensemble with its signature fruity-woody-smoky profile—pineapple and bergamot opening into birch and patchouli, finishing with musk and oakmoss. This is my most versatile EDP, appropriate for board meetings through evening events, with 8-12 hours of moderate-to-strong projection.
