Think I've finished off another line with this one, well of the available releases. Came out last year, a creation of three perfumers, Honorine Blanc, Sophie Labbé & Clémentine Girard created this latest addition to the Azzaro line. I was initially annoyed with this one, guess that's why it took so long for me to pull the trigger here. The reason being, that gorgeous Raspberry in the opening says hello and then just as quick it fecka right off again. What you are left with after this is a rather good Leather scent that's not trying to copy the Ombre winning formula. It does it's own thing, much like V&R did the previous year with Dark Leather. Once I quit sulking over the raspberry, I was able to enjoy this for what it is. A fruity/woody/leather that won't upset anyone s despite the elixir tag. Maybe I'm wrong, is an elixir, not supposed to kick your front door down and scream in a death metal growl to announce it's arrival? Ok maybe not, but I would expect elixr to pack a bigger punch. At the top you get that stunning raspberry extract that passes like a stranger in the night, it's a tart red fruity vibe that is balanced by the citrus freshness of green mandarin and bergamot. At its heart, is moves into contrasting Aromatic warmth with some additional spice. Cardamom Heart, Clary Sage and Lavandin Oil fill the ranks with the Spicey cardamon being balanced by the herbal notes of Sage & lavender. The foundation is where the fragrance gains its depth and power. The dominant eather accord intertwines with the earthy, smoky vetiver and the deep, resinous woody note of Wolfwood, creating a very enjoyable dry down. The leather accord is somewhat remonisant of an ME style of leather, but it works very well. Despite the fleeting raspberry and false implications of an elixir what you get is more a seven hour fragrance that projects well for the first two before stepping. Back to a more intimate scent bubble. Another fragrance that will work amazingly well in the cold. Good for date nights evenings out. It's the only one of my Azzaros that I got in a 50ml, so when I eventually run dry I will upgrade to the larger one, and yes the all gold bottle is tacky as hell.

Today I was talking amongst the brothers and I had a thought of a simple question. What was the first parfum you smelled when “the passion” hit? Not the first time you recognized frags, but when you really got serious!!!! For example, mine was not Polo Green or Old Spice or Stetson For Men. In 1978-1984ish options and knowledge was very limited. Especially in an area of the country with maybe 2 TV channels available possibly 3 in the winter when the leaves fell off the trees. Sounds crazy right???? I was 25 and been in my first war before computers were a thing. Sorry. Regardless, the first frag that had me was my father’s Vetiver By Guerlain. The OG. Luckily I still have my last OG bottle from 1988. I had first found Polo Green and Drakar Noir but the vetiver???? That was class. So what say you brothers? Did you get real about frags seriously when older or younger??? What was it that got you and why???? I realize we also have many younger people here and really want to hear your thoughts and experiences as well!!!
