MYSLF l’Absolu (1/3) + Line review
The final fragrance that completes the popular MYSLF trilogy. Here are my thoughts on L’Absolu. It opens fresh and spicy with bergamot, ginger, and cardamom. There’s a D&G The One-like impression in the opening, but built on the MYSLF backbone. After a minute or 2, the signature orange blossom and floral notes take over. To my nose, it’s mainly iris with some other white florals I can’t quite pinpoint. Around 30-45 minutes in, it started to remind me of Prada L’Homme Intense, but in a more muted and fresher way. At this stage, the patchouli slowly begins to creep in. As it develops further, the fragrance transforms into a deeper orange blossom, green patchouli, and woody composition. Easily the most complex release in the lineup. Throughout the dry-down, it reminded me of different fragrances, or parts of them, yet it still holds its own identity. It’s a very soapy-clean, spicy, floral, woody, and slightly green scent. Extremely well blended, refined, easy to wear, and mass appealing. Best suited for cool and colder seasons, though it can definitely work during spring and summer evenings. More of a special-occasion scent in my opinion, but it could also work as a daily wear if that’s your style. Performance is quite impressive. I got an easy 6 hours and it was still going strong. It started with around 2 feet of projection, settling to about 1 foot by the 2-hour mark. I expected it to fade by hour 4, but it stayed at that 1-foot range for a couple more hours, which was surprisingly good. Projection dipped around hour 5, then picked up again on its own. I’m expecting around 8-10 hours on skin and up to 12 hours on clothes. Finally, an Absolu that lives up to its name. One of the biggest downsides is the price. I saw it at around £101 for 100 ml after discount. While that isn’t outrageous, it’s worth noting this is after a 25% discount, which does push the value proposition a bit. Also, the orange blossom DNA is arguably done better in the Gucci Guilty line. While everyone is buying MYSLF right now, if I wanted a better version of this DNA, I’d personally look at Gucci Guilty Elixir or Gucci Guilty Absolu de Parfum.

Hey, fellow scent adventurers and connoisseurs of olfactory artistry! 👋 Alright, brothers, let's talk about the digital frontier of our fragrant passion. We all love our juice, our bottles, our carefully curated collections that bring joy to our noses and confidence to our stride. But let's be real – keeping track of it all can be... a task. The dreaded spreadsheet. We've all been there, haven't we? Rows, columns, trying to remember if you logged that new decant or where you put the purchase date for that vintage gem. Shivers. Which brings me to my light-hearted muse for today: Has anyone here in the Brotherhood been harnessing the power of Fragrantica (https://www.fragrantica.com/) to upload and meticulously track their magnificent fragrance collections? Seriously, once you go Fragrantica, you realize it definitely beats using a spreadsheet! It's like upgrading from a dusty old map to a full-blown GPS for your scent journey. Imagine: all your beloved bottles, decants, and samples neatly cataloged, with all the notes, perfumers, and reviews right at your fingertips. No more endless scrolling through Google images to remember what that one flanker looked like! If you haven't dived in yet, here's the super simple lowdown to get started and liberate your collection from the tyranny of rows and columns: 🚶‍♀️ Getting Started on Fragrantica 1. Head to the Site: Navigate your browser to https://www.fragrantica.com/. 2. Register Your Account: Look for the "Register" or "Join" link, usually in the top right corner. You'll just need a username, email, and password. It's quick, painless, and free! 3. Confirm Your Email: They'll send you a confirmation email. Click the link, and boom – you're officially part of the Fragrantica family. 📝 Recording Your Fragrances 1. Find Your Fragrance: Once logged in, use the search bar at the top of the page. Type in the name of a fragrance you own (e.g., "Creed Aventus," "Dior Sauvage," "Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille"). 2. Add to Your Collection: On the fragrance's page, you'll see a section like "I have it," "I had it," "I want it," etc. Click on "I have it"! 3. Specify Details (Optional but Fun!): A little pop-up will appear. You can specify details like: 4. Repeat! Go through your collection and add all your treasures.
