Picked up a 10ml decant of Les Dieux aux Bains by Hellenist after seeing it absolutely blow up across the Facebook groups and wanted to see what the hype is about. On paper, it honestly threw me off a bit. Very much comes across like you just did a full load of laundry with lemon detergent and doubled up on lemon dryer sheets; super clean, almost too clean, borderline sharp. But on skin it’s a completely different story. That initial blast settles down pretty quickly and what’s left is this really airy, diffusive lemon. It loses that harsh “cleaning product” edge and turns into something much more wearable. It’s light, breezy, and almost transparent. Feels like a soft lemon haze rather than a dense citrus bomb. Put this to its first test in Arizona’s March heat wave (first 100° day), both outside and in the gym, and honestly, this is where it clicked. Light, citrusy, and perfectly suited for this kind of dry heat. It stayed refreshing without ever getting cloying or heavy. Performance was right where you’d expect for this scent profile: about 4 hours of solid presence, then another 2–3 hours hanging closer to the skin. For an airy citrus like this, that’s pretty much ideal. Early verdict: hype makes sense if you understand what you’re getting. This isn’t a powerhouse; it’s a clean, effortless, hot-weather reach that just works. Is it full bottle worthy? Yet to be determined. Is it worth sampling? Definitely. Is it worth a 5-10ml decant? If you live in a warm climate, yes. I’d double up and say definitely if you already have a big collection but somehow can never seem to get enough freshies.

Testing out a new to me sample that just came in yesterday. We hit 80 degrees today, but I wore it to work so most of the wear was indoors. Indigo was released in 2025. It’s a woody aquatic, created by Quentin Bisch. It's inspired by Japanese indigo dyeing, blending fresh marine with iris and leather. The opening is fresh, clean sea notes with a marine accord. The heart brings iris that adds a soft touch of sophistication. In the base there is leather, sandalwood, and Akigalawood. Its brings subtle warmth, smoothness, and a touch of woody/smoky depth without being heavy. Overall It's clean, refined, and versatile. It’s non-aggressive, office friendly, and calming. It has moderate projection for the first few hours and solid longevity at 8+ hours. It’s a fresh, slightly mature everyday aquatic. If you like aquatics I highly recommend trying this one out.
