i hate to admit that i’ve kind of been this guy (albeit it’s an exaggerated skit), but hey, you need to put your brothers into elite ball knowledge right? you need them to smell GOOD and stand out >:) and it’s better than gatekeeping am i right? side effect and althair in the summer is diabolical though https://m.youtube.com/shorts/2G9oXsR0wwg

SOTD: Red Tobacco by Mancera 09/02/2026
Straight off of the bat, Red Tobacco is a powerhouse, it's one of those beastly scents that you know from the start will take you for a wild ride. The oil concentration here is far superior to most, I Hit my wrist with just two sprays initially and can see the faint film of oil on the skin. You won't see that with a Dior of Tom Ford. RT is a polarizing, high-octane scent, with an aggressive opening and an incredibly rich, sweet dry down. Again from the nose of Pierre Montale whom founded both the Mancera & Montale houses. This is a woody Spicey release from 2017. I'm starting to believe that this is a Jekyll & Hyde fragrance. It started of as a chaotic Spicey explosion, before settling into a smooth, luxurious gourmand. With top notes of Saffron, Cinnamon, Incense, Nutmeg, White Peach, Green Apple, Nepalese Oud. It is a loud & challenging opening. I struggled a bit with this . It is medicinal, sharp, and intensely spicy. There is an awful lot going on here and it will take my nose some time to adjust to the sensory overload, but I'm liking it. Much simpler at the heart with just Patchouli leaves & Delicate Jasmine. The sharp edges begin to soften as a dark, earthy patchouli emerges to ground the spices. As for the base is becomes what I could only describe as a masterpiece. If anything was going to challenge my Spicebomb Extreme for the no 1 spot, it would be Red Tobacco. The only thing stopping it would be sentimental attachment. Perhaps it's time to start looking at a Niche list instead to make it fair. So base notes of Tobacco, Amber, Guaiac Wood, Sandalwood, Vetiver, Madagascar Vanilla & White Musk. This is where the magic happens. It transforms into a creamy, cherry-like tobacco scent with heavy vanilla and warm resins. So I usually but very appealing. If you are looking for a fragrance that stays with you & everyone else, all day, this is it. On skin I'm getting 12hrs, but it will stay on clothes till wash day. Projection, is nuclear. For the first 3–4 hours, it will fill a room. Even after that, it maintains a heavy scent trail that people will notice from several feet away. I would definitely be keeping this one for the cold weather. RT is not a safe blind buy. This will get you noticed. So if you enjoy heavy, spicy, sweet compositions like Parfums de Marly Carlisle or Viktor&Rolf Spicebomb Extreme this could be for you. Word of caution, from a heavy sprayer, start with one spray. Seriously. Spraying this more than twice in an indoor setting could get you in trouble.

definitely had mixed feelings about this one. the opening is incredibly harsh and hard for me, and i find it a bit cloying if not in very cold weather. drydown is nice though. it’s a great scent for someone wanting to make a statement and turn heads
first tom ford buy 😬
bad news gents, last time we all voted for me to buy gris charnel. anddddd finally i waited and waited for my paycheck to get it, as i don’t want my account balance to drop below a certain number, and as soon as i got it… the coupon sale ended! and now it’s out of budget 😔 BUT! no need to worry, because oud wood just dropped to 160 dollars, and as someone who’s been a big fan of this scent, i’m finally placing my order to get it. i’ve been decanting for too long! now it’s time to commit to a full bottle. i’m nervous gents! but excited for this one to come. a few weeks ago i also placed an order for ralph’s club new york. i’ve been trying to stay away from lower quality syrupy sweet or synthetic designers like JPG and Dior Sauvage, and i was sort of a ralph lauren hater… till i sampled this one, and my word i love it. so yes, adding to the collection. the silver bottle will look spectacularly perfect next to it too. it came with a complimentary tote bag and two samples, so i’m excited to try those out too. nonetheless, life is good!

I saw this posted on Reddit and it got me thinking. I know the "fragrance snobs" love to hate on it because it’s everywhere, but the DNA and performance are honestly hard to beat. It basically defined the modern "blue" scent. Is it a legitimate masterpiece that deserves the hype, or are we just totally over it at this point? What’s your take—Hall of Fame or overplayed?
