Weekly Brotherhood of Scent Member Shoutouts 🔥
Brothers, here are a few standout posts from the BOS community this week. 👏 Big shoutout to @Keith Mason for "What do you brothers think?" — leaning into the clean Mediterranean look and asking the group to help him pick between French Riviera by Mancera and Torino 21 by Xerjoff. A perfect example of tapping the community's nose for a summer freshie. Post: https://www.skool.com/bos/what-do-you-brothers-think 👏 Shoutout to @Srinesh for "Falling Out of Love With Certain Fragrances" — an honest, thought-provoking thread about outgrowing scents you once loved, opening a real conversation about how taste evolves over time. Post: https://www.skool.com/bos/falling-out-of-love-with-certain-fragrances 👏 Shoutout to @Vasili Romanof for "Recommendation" — a crisp, specific ask (daytime yacht date) that drew 31 comments of solid suggestions. Specific questions get specific answers. Post: https://www.skool.com/bos/recommendation-3 👏 Shoutout to @Robert Sheard for "What's the Ideal Collection Size (For You)?" — a thoughtful discussion-starter about collection philosophy that had members reflecting on their own approach to buying and curating. Post: https://www.skool.com/bos/whats-the-ideal-collection-size-for-you Keep asking, sharing, and smelling great.

I’d acquired a sample set for this house a while back, and decided to give this one a try. It definitely isn’t something I expected it to be, aaaaaand I probably should have checked the notes better or like, tried it on paper before testing this one on my skin. This fragrance is definitely unique, but also probably isn’t something I’d personally wear again. Now that being said, taste and smell does vary from person to person, so if this one intrigued you, it’s still absolutely worth a try, and the superior blend quality is there. To sum it up, I personally don’t enjoy the profile, but I absolutely appreciate the artistic work and craftsmanship behind it. The opening spray is strong, intense, and spicy, and to me, it’s almost a bit fizzy. You’re blasted with a combination of citruses, florals, and petitgrain, which, combined with the heart of cherry, orris, and other florals and the touches of vanilla, gives it almost a root beer like quality to me. Particularly the opening sparkle combined with the cherry and orris. The initial fizz eventually tones down, and you’re left with a powdery, slightly lipstick-like combination of that orris and cherry heart. There’s that slightly medicinal sweetness from the cherry, which give a spicy, syrupy edge to the orris, which stay throughout, until a drydown of amber and sandalwood. Overall, I’d personally say I’m not going to wear this one again. Or maybe I’ll like it more in the future. But personally, I don’t really love this one. The heart in particular kind of rubs me the wrong way, and I’m not really a big fan of cherry fragrances in general, mainly because they’re a bit medicinal in my opinion, and combined with the orris, kind of makes it a bit too lipsticky for my taste. I do like powdery fragrances usually, but this combination just kind of has this cherry play-doh like scent. A very expensive play doh to say the least, but still… lol. Now that’s just my opinion here, and I think this scent profile, combined with the insane price tag, gives it a lower rating for me. I do appreciate the storytelling and artisinal accountability behind this, but I personally wouldn’t really wear this one again.

@Julio Gutierrez much appreciated, my friend
What do you brothers think?
I’ve really been leaning into the clean boy, Mediterranean, linen oceanic look. I got pacific chill a while back and adore it, but I’m looking for a new summer freshie. So far I’m stuck between French Riviera by Mancera or Torino 21 by Xerjoff. I’d love to finally own a Xerjoff, and really enjoy the dna of this one, but it might be redundant as I already have a fragrance occupying the minty herbal fruity slot (pacific chill), so I’m leaning French Riviera now. I need more high quality marine fragrances as well. What do you brothers think?

@Stephen DeMent amazing suggestions my brother. I should have been a bit more specific by Mediterranean lol. I’m leaning more coastal riviera look with Mediterranean influence. So with tailoring and linen and such. Thank you for these though!
Need help deciding...
I'm torn between Hawas Black, Afnan Supremacy Not Only Intense, and Club de Nuit Precieux I. In my mind, they all sort of run in the same lane and function in pretty much the same type of way. I can smell them all, but not all at the same time to compare (different locations and such), and so I'm having a difficult time with my memory. Out of those three, what do people prefer and why? Just tryna gather some opinions. Thanks in advance!

Supremacy Collectors Edition. Best blended, most versatile, RAHHHHH
Old Money by Armaf review
#sotd... Old Money by Armaf... This is an oriental woody fragrance. In my opinion this opens a little harsh. Give it a minute or two and it smooths out. Old Money blends a fresh spicy opening with a powdery semi-sweet gourmand mid with a smokey Mineral dry down. This has a really nice powdery vibe to it. Good projection for the first couple hours. I was able to go 8 hours before I refreshed. I give this an 8.5 out of 10. Great value for the price.
