SOTD - Club de Nuit Sillage
Salutations Brotherhood of Scent! After taking a not-so-short break I'm finally back with another review, this time, of one of my latest acquisitions, Club de Nuit - Sillage by Armaf. Sillage is a fresh citrusy expensive smelling unisex fragrance. While based off of Creed's 1995 release, Silver Mountain Water (which I haven't tried yet) I'd differ from the idea of it being a 1:1 clone based off of the note breakdown of each and because of one key ingredient; iris (which at least on my bottle, batch 440592, is pretty noticeable throughout the life cycle of the fragrance). My nose tells me the breakdown as the following: Bergamot, Lime and Ginger for the top notes; Iris and Rose in the middle; and a dose of clean Musk, Cedar, Sandalwood and a hint of Ambroxan for the base notes. Even though I'm not the hugest fan of modern fragrances, I definitely knew I had to give sillage a shot as soon as I found out it was based off of a 90s fragrance, and man oh man was I surprised, and not only by its scent; for it being a fresh citrusy fragrance, the performance is amazing, 6 to 8 hour skin longevity with good projection and sillage during the first hour, overall one of the entries of the house of Armaf I could definitely recommend trying... Blind buy worth it? Maybe! But keep in mind it may come with some iris on it's composition (although maybe not as strong as in my bottle)
