Today I wore a decant of Phantom in Red by Rabanne. Although it’s my first time trying a Phantom flanker and I’m not a fan of the bottle, I still enjoyed this one. Don’t know if it has the DNA of the other ones but this opens very different IMO with the Saffron, Plum Liquor & Bergamot, giving it like a soft sweet and pleasing opening, at the heart you can smell those aromatic notes & in the dry down, although from the opening you can smell that ambery scent, in the dry down I didn’t get the Oud & neither the tobacco note. Projection is good for the first 1:30 to 2 hours and longevity is pretty decent, on clothe it stayed up to 8 hours. Although it’s more for cooler weather and for nighttime, I was pleased with it. This was my second venture into the Eternity line with this 2022 limited edition flanker from the nose of Anne Flipo. It's an Aromatic/Fourgere twist on the original Eternity DNA that brings with it that Coastal Summer holidays vibe. The fragrance opens with a bright, juicy burst of mandarin orange, for an energetic & uplifting start. As it transitions into the heart, the classic clean lavender of the Eternity line is modernized with the addition of a cooling mint note. What makes Summer Daze unique compared to previous years is the use of Calypsone in the base. This Givaudan molecule provides a watery, ozone like freshness with a subtle hint of watermelon rind, which adds a distinct marine character without the saltiness of traditional aquatics. As an edt designed for the heat, it's meant to be a light wear, expect 4hrs at best, you can always top up throughout the day, especially at this price point. It projects well for the first 60m, perfect for outdoor setting, after this it settles into a pleasant personal scent bubble. This is a daytime fragrance for spring/summer. Perfect for the beach or outdoor activities. It's also a great option for the office, if you want a clean scent for the warmer days.
