Old Dogs - can learn New Tricks
Today was one of those days where the learning curve was basically a vertical wall… but somehow I managed to scramble up it without face‑planting. Small miracle. I was working with a colleague who’s a total subject‑matter wizard, (we are a Software as a Solution - Start Up business) and he actually gave me proper feedback — like, real encouragement — about how quickly I’m picking things up in this whole software‑company world we’re running. Sometimes when I’m working on content for our shiny new SaaS operation, using AI feels a bit like… cheating on a test I didn’t study for. Like I’m waiting for someone to tap me on the shoulder and say, “Excuse me ma’am, you’re not allowed to bring a robot to work.” But honestly — if this is cheating, then I’m absolutely fine being the kid with the open‑book exam. The learning curve is steep enough to qualify as a recreational sport, and if AI helps me not look like a complete tech numpty while I’m climbing it, then so be it. I’m still doing the thinking, still doing the work — I’ve just outsourced the part where my brain melts trying to phrase things like a grown‑up in the software world. Old dogs can learn new tricks, but sometimes the old dog appreciates a wee hint. So no, it’s not cheating. It’s strategic survival. And if it keeps the wheels turning while we build this SaaS baby, I’m calling it a win. Meet Ms SaaSy - My Thought Partner
