Fake out
One of the more interesting things I’ve learned is that even if you’re in full on menopause, you have a hormone shift each month that provides all of the excitement of having your period, without any actual evidence. Wait, let me clarify- the evidence is on the scale. Just like when you have a regular cycle every month and you bloat, gain a few extra pounds, and need a few extra calories- you get all of those same things in menopause. I call it my fake period. No woman has ever told me this information so now that I know- I’m passing it on to you. Thanks for filling me in Dr. G.

Oh very cool! I had no idea! So should we add more oz last week of our luteal phase and during menstruation if still cycling? @Anna Fisher @Cody Golman
Visceral Fat Goal?
When using the recommended body composition scale, what is a healthy number to shoot for in the visceral fat category? Are we taking the body composition feature with a grain of salt?

@Cody Golman thank you!! So helpful!
I ate more food and lost .7 lbs!
March 5/Day 1 = 157 Day 30 -.7 (144.7) I have been curious about what would happen if I increased my food intake so i purposely went from 4.5 oz of each item and ate 5oz instead yesterday. I was a little nervous about what results I might have. When I walked 12,000 one day (not the norm) and ate my normal amount of food (not enough), I gained weight. I learned then that by depriving my body the calories it needed that it started storing fat and not shedding weight. So yesterday I took a client to lunch and brought my food scale because I was committed to starting eating more. I ended up getting full so I quit before eating the last bite of filet and an asparagus spear. (And Seasons 52 made them without oils no problem!) AND I LOST .7 pounds even with eating more!

Good morning 🙌 Quick reminder to check in today, and don’t forget to send updates over the weekend as well. Daily accountability matters more than most people realize. The people who keep the weight off long-term… 1, 2, even 5 years later… are the ones who continue to measure and stay aware. You can’t manage what you don’t measure 👊 Now, something important for today… Testosterone. This applies to both men and women. Most people have been led to believe that after 40, your body just stops producing it. That’s not what I’ve seen. Your body is still fully capable. But testosterone is highly sensitive to your environment and signals. When your body feels: • Safe • Supported • Nourished • Consistent…it produces. When it feels: • Stressed • Depleted • Overwhelmed • Inconsistent …it conserves. That’s why things like: • Chronic stress • Poor sleep • Undereating • Blood sugar swings • Unprocessed emotions…can all lower it. Your nervous system doesn’t separate emotional stress from physical stress. If something is sitting under the surface… your body still feels it. And when that happens, it shifts into protection mode. Not growth mode. Testosterone is a building hormone. It shows up when the body feels safe enough to grow, repair, and expand. So instead of asking: “Why is my body not making this anymore?” A better question is: “What signals am I giving my body every day?” When you: • Sleep consistently • Eat enough • Eat on time • Stabilize blood sugar • Reduce stress • Process what you’ve been holding …your body responds. You’re not broken. You’re adapting. Keep going 👊
