General Fitness Poll-Should You Train When You're Sore—or Rest?
Discussion Topic of the Week: Should You Train When You're Sore—or Rest? We all know the feeling: sore, stiff, and questioning if today’s workout will help or hurt. Poll Options: ✅ Yes — training through soreness promotes recovery. ✅ Maybe — light movement is good, but go easy. ✅ No — rest is critical for true adaptation. ✅ Depends — soreness isn’t the only recovery metric. ✅ I listen to my body—some days I push, others I pause. 💬 Drop a comment: How do YOU gauge when to train or rest?

The other day I got a new hypertension machine for my home gym (it's coming together nice).... Well I went a lil overboard with my lower back exercises and woke up the next day and couldn't move out of bed. I didn't pull anything...I just worked the crap out of it and it was so tight and sore that I couldn't move. So, yeah...I took that next day off. But yesterday (2 days after) I got up my workout I missed and I went kinda light on exercises that requires a load on the back. I mainly used my Smith machine and my hack squat and leg press machine (it was leg day).

I think many many many people would have better success at their goals if they were tracking their sleep like they do with their exercises. I just got out on a CPAP machine and my sleep went from crap to omg....now I still need some getting use to wearing it but I feel better and more rested now. My workouts are even better because I'm obtaining more and higher quality sleep.

Yeah..... I got what you call an addictive personality lol. So when I snack..... I snack like every snack is about to disappear forever, lol. With me competing in bodybuilding shows.... Snacking is just not worth it for me. I'll derail myself so fast and all the hard work is just gone.

I absolutely love working on my mental discipline and morning routine. If it gets thrown off, I feel lost for the day so I hold my morning routine near and dear to my heart, lol. But with prior military and all the stuff I willingly picked up on my plate in life, my mental discipline is something that I don't take lightly. Without it, I will fail at what I'm doing and I won't succeed in any goals I have set forth.
General Fitness Poll: Are Warm-Ups Overrated for Experienced Lifters?
Discussion Topic of the Week: Are Warm-Ups Overrated for Experienced Lifters? Some seasoned athletes say they barely warm up anymore—others swear it’s non-negotiable. Where do you land? Poll Options: ✅ Non-negotiable—proper warm-ups prevent injuries and boost performance. ✅ I do a minimal warm-up—just enough to get moving. ✅ Depends—if it’s a heavy lift day, I warm up; otherwise, I skip. ✅ Honestly, I skip them and jump straight in. ✅ I’m experimenting to find what my body actually needs. 💬 Drop a comment: Have you ever been burned (literally or figuratively) by skipping a proper warm-up?

So, I do science based warm-ups. I do not rotate my shoulders based on research (and my own feelings on it) but I will do elastic bands and or extremely light weights and make my body go through the motion it is about to go through for my lift. Rotating my shoulder by moving my hand up and down does nothing to stretch that area out for a chest or shoulder workout.
