From Overwhelm to Relief
When I came into this program, I was at wits ends. I have worked with other ADHD coaches and brain experts due to my brain injuries which multiplied the ADHD symptoms. I learned some useful things from them but the overwhelm,, procrastination, and self-loathing remained. Since stating Jim’s 5 day workshop, I cannot believe the mental shifts that have happened. I am no longer feeling overwhelmed. I am getting things done every day that matter to me. I am now focused on what I do well rather than what isn’t perfect. I feel like a new person. I am calmer, happier, and more productive. So grateful for this program and for @Jim Ebbelaar sharing the depth and breadth of his knowledge with us.

How to stop emotions & RSD from ruining your day in under 3 minutes
@John Whyman @Pat Cast @Sara Edvardsson @Anouchka Hanneman @Sara Ellisson @Nic F @Cindy Mason @Pamela Saintonge @Raven Payne @Mads Munk tagging you all because you brought up emotions, RSD, overwhelm, or self-sabotage. We literally covered this in yesterday's Q&A and I want to make sure everyone gets the core insight, whether you were there live or not. The big reframe: RSD and emotional overwhelm almost always trace back to self-worth and self-image. When someone triggers you, the real issue isn't what they did. It's that in that moment, you don't feel worthy or good enough. @Darci Wert shared a powerful example on the call: her boss leaned over her at the computer, corrected her way of doing something, and she spiraled into "I'm stupid, he only gave me this job out of charity." But the actual trigger wasn't him. It was her belief that her way of doing things wasn't valid, rooted in old patterns from childhood. The fish-and-tree dynamic of growing up neurodivergent in a neurotypical world. This is where the 3-Minute Comeback Protocol comes in. Here's the short version (also see the attached image below_: Step 1: Name it. What emotion is actually coming up right now? Sometimes the monkey mind takes over and we don't even know what we feel. Just naming it is already powerful. Step 2: Source it. Take a deep breath, close your eyes, and locate where you feel it in your body (throat, shoulders, chest). Then ask: is this connected to something older? A childhood pattern, a school experience, a parent dynamic? A lot of triggers tie back to not feeling worthy, people-pleasing, or only receiving love when being productive.

@Jim Ebbelaar without this knowledge I would have spiraled downwards over the last few weeks. The emotional roller coaster of setting up a new business would have been too hard before the challenge. 🥰
I'm lost already!
I haven't received the invites to open the 6 week challenge or join the What's App group...Can anyone help?

@Cathy A Castagna My coffee machine has been my best friend for way too long. I just can’t do decaf. It’s all or nothing.

@Cathy A Castagna It’s been a bit crazy lately- set a new business & creating the work flows, setting up the tools that I need has been intense so doing week 3 has been a challenge but I’ve stuck to the morning & evening protocols - downside of that is I’m not connecting in the community as much as I would like. Maintained the no coffee habit & kept my protein intake high (cottage cheese is my new best friend) and I know for certain that I couldn’t have maintained my focus, energy before. I’ve had a few challenges getting everything together and instead of spiraling into “this is too hard’” I am dealing with them. How are tracking?
5 day challenge

@Santella Austin welcome to the community- it is worth the wait 😊
Awakening Assessment
Just completed the ADHD Awakening Assessment and I'm honestly shaken in the best way. The report showed me that the systems I used to rely on weren't real organization - they were a survival strategy. And when they collapsed, I thought I was broken. Turns out I was just finally seeing my real brain for the first time. The part about being "loyal to everyone but myself" hit hard. Starting to understand that showing up for myself isn't selfish - it's overdue.
