Updates & commitments
Update: DB training has been good. Skipped Sunday's training because the exhaustion from travelling got to me and I KO-ed with a light fever. Y'all who can do long road trips, big respect. Tues & Thurs sessions were good - showed up, performed: we're holding strong. D-8 to race day. PSA: never skip mobility. The stretching is magic. New things: I found these protein shakes at the store the other day - got a few flavours to try. Let's see how this goes. I signed up at my local gym - 24h access and super convenient locations for me. I've got quite a strength journey coming soon πŸ™

I've never personally tried gua sha, but I hear it really works.

@Octavia Teo I've seen so many athletes with those red cupping 'artworks' too! πŸ˜† I can only imagine what someone would look like after a full gua sha session. πŸ˜… It’s fascinating how ancient civilizations developed these techniques. πŸ˜‡ Thanks for sharing!
The case of the missing wallet...
I definitely gave up on finding my wallet. I ordered replacements for everything which was relatively easy, thank God. This morning, a kind stranger showed up at our door with my wallet! Guinzly and the wrist strap are gone, along with my key fob, and based on the appearance of the wallet I would guess they are crushed on the side of the road somewhere. All of my cards and license were still inside. The man was on a bike ride, saw it on the side of the road, and took the time to come to the address on my license and return it to me. This is one of those reminders that even in this crazy world there are good people everywhere. Even though I already replaced everything, it brightened my day to see that someone went out of his way to do the right thing for a perfect stranger. How did my wallet end up on the side of the road? I have theories, starting with I accidentally threw it away and when the garbage truck dumped the bin it fell onto the road. Where is my Guinzly keychain? I can only hope he's in a better place. πŸ™πŸΌπŸ™πŸΌ Have a blessed day everyoneπŸ–€

Coach Darren, this is one of the toughest posts to reply to since I joined the BBB community. I’ve watched your video several times, and I’m still not entirely sure if my response aligns with your question. Regarding my Blood Matrix goalβ€”which is part of my primary goal of longevityβ€”I have been very consistent. I adjust my plan every 1–2 months based on my lab results. However, for my lower-priority goals like athletic performance and aesthetics, I’ve been extremely 'messy.' I haven't been strict with my daily calorie targets, I swap exercises based on equipment availability at my busy gym, and I’ve even switched run clubs twice in one quarter. Somehow, my progress has been kind of 'fair' for an 'average dude.' I’ve lost a little muscle while dropping body fat to an okay level, and while my running performance hasn't improved, my gait feels much better. To sum it up: I’m consistent with my atherosclerosis prevention, but inconsistent with everything else.

Thank you a ton for the non-negotiable checklist, coach @Darren Liu . Here is where I stand: 1. Protein: I’m already hitting my targets consistently, so I’ll keep this locked in. 2. Calories: This is the hard one where I derail. As my work volume increases (crunching excels and policy docs), I feel like I need more energy and end up overeating things like canned fish 🐟 and complex carbs -- seasonal fruit πŸ₯, steamed taro πŸ₯”, and grilled sweet potato 🍠, etc. I’m going to focus on keeping this within a reasonable range. 3. Training Structure for a block: 3.1 Resistance Training (RT) Upper Body: I’ve been training in a block and seeing gradual progression. 3.2 Running: After switching to the most recent running club, I’m committing to a Tuesday interval training and a Fri/weekend long run. I’ll treat this as my running block. 3.3 RT Lower Body: This is the most 'messy' part. When my schedule gets tight, I skip legs to prioritize my upper body (since my InBody 270 shows my upper is weaker and I prefer training it). But I will try my best to keep my RT-lower. Appreciate your message!
Skipping
A shout out to @Cristyne Hung Today I did it!! πŸ˜ŽπŸ˜ƒπŸ’ͺ I did 50 jumps. It took me two weeks to get over the pain in my left shoulder and be able to swing the rope around. I started out with slowly walking over the rope, back and forth. Then small jumps.. Did mobility for my shoulders. Noticed the diference and today I actually jumped, 50 TIMES!! So fun and also another reminder of that consistency, stubborness and a small amount of crazyness helps. πŸ€ͺ πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

What a amazing win for both of you! Huge congrats πŸŽ‰ to @Γ…sa Latorre β€”transition from walking over the rope to hitting 50 straight jumps. Way to stay stubborn through that shoulder mobility work! πŸ’ͺ Congratulations 🎊 @Cristyne Hung being such a great inspiring for others. πŸ₯³
Apples
Yes, @Darren Liu I took the challenge seriously πŸ€“πŸ§πŸ˜‚ Now I have tried several but still no Envy πŸ€” I keep looking though.. And for the background.. we had many apple trees in my childhood home. There were always apples. After dinner, in between meals, at school outings.. πŸ˜’ And I got tired of them. Everyone always telling me "eat an apple" but for me? I got hungrier, I got tired of eating them as an healthy option.. and so on.. So for me now, eating one a day is a win πŸ˜… The upside of this is that I now can enjoy apples again and willingly buy them. I always have something sweet at home and always eat, at least one, a day! I haven't tested the green ones and neither did I test all the swedish ones in comparison. But here is what I think of three of them.. 1. Royal Gala -juicy, sweet, crunchy and good size. Like them the most.. Downside: they age faster 2. Cosmic Crisp - crunchy, juicy but a bit sour. Remind me of a swedish apple I ate as a child.. bought them recently so I don't know the downsides yet. But I peel them because I think they have a thicker skin.. 3. Giga - also a bit sour but really crunchy. Bigger than the rest. Downside: I had to cut them in halfes because they are to big, as a snack or after dinner.

@Γ…sa Latorre One Envy costs 139 THB while 5 mangoes cost only 20 THB. This means 1 apple 🍎 is equivalent to roughly 35 mangoes πŸ₯. That's why I buy local seasonal fruits instead.

I see. Thank you for sharing the price range. Anyhow we can mix our different local vegetables and fruits, 'fiber shields' πŸ›‘οΈ, for our healthy diet! 🍎πŸ₯
