I Bought a Real Watch and Didn't Feel Different. Here's What Actually Changed.
A few years ago, I finally saved up and bought a watch I'd been staring at online for months. Midnight blue dial. Steel bezel. That satisfying click when you wind it. I unboxed it, strapped it on, and waited for the transformation. Nothing. I didn't feel more successful. Didn't suddenly command more respect. Didn't become the person I thought I'd be when I could afford it. Here's what I realized watches don't change you. They just remind you of where you've been. The watch I actually wear most now? A scratched-up Seiko my wife gave me when we were barely making rent. It's worth maybe $200. Means more to me than anything in my collection. That's the thing about this hobby. It's not about the logo on the dial. It's about what you were doing when you put it on. This week, let's keep it simple Go dig out the watch you bought first. Or the one someone gave you. Or the one that's been sitting in a drawer for no good reason. Wind it. Wear it for a day. Comment below · What watch is it? · What's the story behind it? · What memory hits you when you see it? No flexing. No price tags. Just stories. 👇 Show me what's been sitting forgotten.

Day 30 of 30
Closing out the challenge with my Grail: Omega Seamaster Diver 300M, specifically the 42mm model with a stainless steel bracelet and blue ceramic bezel. - Dial: Silver dial with a distinctive wave pattern and blued hands.  - Movement: Automatic Co-Axial Master Chronometer caliber.  - Features: Date window at 6 o'clock and a manual helium escape valve.  - Water Resistance: Rated for depths up to 300 meters (1000 feet).  A gift from an Advisor I coached and helped through his Succession/Retirement transition. Also a gift which landed me in the spousal doghouse for nearly a week as it took me down the path of "missing the signs" (and not recognizing my wife's gift of Grail ranks higher no matter what). Write that down to avoid any future doghouse nightm-memories. Wonderful challenge. I may keep going as I dust off some forgotten friends.

White Dial Wednesday and I'm bringing Gene Kranz with me to work today. I still remember as a kid watching those Apollo missions on our black & white TV. "Failure is not an option" became the battle cry for every major corporate project and restructuring after Apollo 13 replacing "I have not yet begun to fight!" Have a wondrous Wednesday!

Days 26 & 27 of 30 day challenge
Missed posting yesterday as I was road tripping home from visiting Mom. Great day for a drive (lots of farmers in the fields). Yesterday I had my Swatch x OMEGA MoonSwatch "Mission to the Moon" (Reference: SO33M100). This timepiece is part of a collaborative collection that blends the design of the legendary OMEGA Speedmaster Moonwatch with Swatch’s innovative Bioceramic material. It features a steel gray case, a black dial with the iconic Speedmaster and MoonSwatch logos, and a black VELCRO® strap. Key Specifications - Case Material: Bioceramic (a blend of ceramic and biosourced material). - Dimensions: 42 mm diameter and 13.25 mm thickness. - Movement: Quartz chronograph. - Water Resistance: 3 Bar. - Special Features: Tachymeter scale on the bezel and Super-LumiNova® on the hands and markers for low-light visibility. Super light on the wrist. Velcro strap is perfect for a swelling wrist like mine. __________ Today I'm twinning with my friend @Chad Smith and going Blue dial Monday with Blue MOP Erebus. He, @Brett Sutton , and Mr. Myers introduced me to Erebus and I took the plunge with this beauty and have added three more to join them since. Have a magnificent Monday. It's good to be home.
