I wearing a very special watch today, the Fortis Spacematic all risk from the early 1960s, this is one of 3 watches that belonged to my grandfather. I never got to meet him but getting the watches from my cousin inspired me to finding out more about him. Born in 1908 in Calbourne County on the Isle of Wight, he served in the RAF during WW2 which brought him to South Africa where he met my Grandmother and the rest is history.

Taking the day on Single Handed!! My #9 entry is a fun and unique watch. The Meistersinger "Lunascope" Meistersinger makes some really nice watches and they are single handed. It takes just a few minutes after you put it on to get accustomed to the single hand to tell time, but the dial is what really hit me and the way the Moon glows in the phase. Went with a Throwback to this vintage Seiko this morning. I found this one at an antique store when I was first getting back into watches. I don’t wear it often as my wife has taken it over and laid claim. It’s not even in my collection spreadsheet it turns out.

The Orient Bambino is the watch that really got me into collecting watches, until this purchase I owned a couple of watches but wasn't really looking to build a collection, sadly it was bought years back when we still lived in Cape Town and I had a reason to wear a dress watch. When we moved to the country this beauty got neglected for a while until I met @David Denham Jr who taught me about straps and how to make a dress watch casual.
