WOTD — A Little American Watchmaking on the Wrist 🇺🇸⌚️
Today I’m wearing my RGM x Teddy Baldassarre Model 501-Teddy. This is still a relatively new watch in my collection, but I have to say…I’ve really been enjoying it. One of the things I’ve been trying to do more of as my interest in watches continues to evolve is look beyond simply whata watch is and spend more time understanding how it was made, who made it, and the craft behind it. That is a big part of what drew me to this one. The watch is a collaboration between Teddy Baldassarre and RGM Watch Co., founded by American watchmaker Roland Murphy in Pennsylvania. The centerpiece is that beautiful multi-piece blue dial with hand-cut engine-turned guilloché, followed by a blue galvanic treatment. In person, the dial has considerably more depth and texture than I think photographs can really capture. Underneath is the RGM/Schwarz Etienne ASE 200 automatic movement with an 86-hour power reserve, visible through the sapphire caseback. But specs are really only part of why I like it. At 39mm and only 10mm thick, it wears beautifully. It has enough presence that it doesn’t feel delicate, but it disappears on the wrist in a way that some of my larger watches simply don’t. The Jean Rousseau alligator strap has also turned out to be exceptionally comfortable. And I think that may be what I’m enjoying most about this watch. It has all sorts of interesting details for the watch nerd in me to study — the guilloché, the movement finishing, the small seconds, the architecture of the dial — but once it’s on the wrist, it’s simply a really enjoyable watch to wear. As I spend more time learning watchmaking myself, I find watches like this becoming increasingly interesting to me. There is something special about wearing a watch where the human craft behind it is so visible. Today’s choice also happened to work pretty nicely with a blue Tuesday. 😎🇺🇸

Best $3 I've ever spent.
I found this custom fitted strap for the world time that I couldn't resist. I could not be happier with how this turned out, I'll definitely be wearing this a lot more now. @James Milson if this doesn't seal the deal for you then I don't know.
Best $3 I've ever spent.
