One thing that doesnât get spoken about enough on the healing path⌠is the purge.
When you begin doing deep shadow workâobserving your patterns, your triggers, your behavioursâyouâre not just âlearningâ about yourselfâŚ
You are changing yourself.
And change at this level often comes with a release.
Purging is part of ego death. Its what happens when an old version of you begins to dissolve.
The jealous part.
The controlling part.
The âIâm not good enoughâ belief.
The voice that says youâre not smart, not worthy, not safe.
These arenât just thoughts⌠theyâre patterns your nervous system has practiced for yearsâsometimes decades.
So when you start to see them clearly⌠and choose differentlyâŚSomething has to move.
That movement can look like:
â Crying out of nowhere
â Deep emotional releases
â Feeling nauseous or physically sick
â Fasting or losing appetite
â Sweating (saunas, heat, detox)
â Exhaustion or needing more rest
â Old memories surfacing
â A strong urge to withdraw and reflect
This isnât you âfalling apart.â
This is you letting go.
Through practices like meditation, journaling, daily self-observation, coaching, and therapy⌠you begin to witness the parts of you that were created to surviveâbut are no longer aligned with who youâre becoming.
And as you witness without judgment⌠those parts start to loosen their grip.
The purge is the release.
The exhale.
The clearing.
It can feel uncomfortable. Sometimes even scary.
But itâs also a sign that your system feels safe enough to let it go.
Youâre not losing your real self. Your are shedding what was never truly you to begin with.
In this space, we honour that process.
You donât have to rush it, and you donât have to force it.
And you definitely donât have to go through it alone.
Hold yourself gently through the release.
There is wisdom in what is leaving you.
And there is power in who you are becoming.
