🎭 Are You Performing… or Are You Being?
A question worth asking yourself and one ive been pondering as i show up more on social media:
Are you showing up in life as your true self…or are you performing a role?
Many of us learned to perform in order to:
• be liked or popular
• be chosen
• keep the peace
• avoid conflict
• be the version of ourselves we think others will accept
So we become the “palatable” version of ourselves.
The agreeable one.
The easy one.
The one who doesn’t rock the boat.
But over time, performing a role in life can feel exhausting.
Because deep down your body, heart and soul know when you’re not being fully you.
When you're performing, it can feel like:
  • tension in your body
  • overthinking what you say
  • people-pleasing
  • suppressing your true opinions or feelings
  • feeling drained after interactions
But when you show up as your authentic self, something shifts.
You feel:
✨ more relaxed in your body
✨ aligned with your values
✨ able to speak honestly
✨ less worried about how you're perceived
✨ more peaceful internally
Not everyone will like the real you.
But the people meant for you will recognise and respect it.
Living as your authentic self may cost you some approval —but performing a role will eventually cost you yourself.
Authenticity is where real freedom begins. Be you, because you're awesome, you're unique, and the world needs you as your full authentic self.
