It's been a fantastic week at the office. The only downside is spending more of my day on management and less on the scientific client work we do. That said, I would not change our trajectory for anything. I told my AI app to have fun with the write up today. Let's see how that goes! "Cashmere & Cream: Friday Luxe in Beige" What a week it's been! And what better way to close it out than draped in cashmere, wool, and a color palette that whispers "effortless sophistication" while shouting "I'm ready for the weekend." Today's internal meetings called for polished comfort—this John W. Nordstrom cashmere blazer answered with aplomb. • Blazer — DOJ-002 (John W. Nordstrom): A beige cashmere single-breasted blazer with brown horn buttons and a full gray/brown lining—pure Nordstrom old-school luxury. The notched lapels and dual rear vents give it a classic American silhouette, while the cashmere drape feels like wearing a cloud. The slash chest pocket and inner pockets (two chest, one business card) keep everything organized. This is a big investment piece from pre-2019 that elevates every outfit it touches. • Trousers — SL-017 (Bachrach): Heavy virgin wool herringbone slacks from Bachrach—American-made with serious presence. The hook & bar closure with button tab, slanted front pockets, and two rear button pockets give these a heritage feel that pairs perfectly with the cashmere blazer. The dark brown herringbone weave creates beautiful visual depth against the beige jacket. • Shirt — DS-013 (David Donahue): A purple gingham David Donahue dress shirt in soft cotton with mother-of-pearl buttons—my Friday Rule pick with zero wears since September 15, 2025. The semi-spread collar (5.66" spread) frames the tie beautifully. This shirt has been patiently waiting for its debut, and today it finally takes center stage against that gorgeous beige cashmere. (ACTUALLY, THIS SHIRT WILL BE RETIRED TODAY. NECK IS WAY TOO BIG AND THE ARMS ARE TOO SHORT) • Undershirt — US-008 (Pro Club): A heavy-weight tan Pro Club crew neck that disappears under the purple gingham while adding warmth for the mild 65°F spring day.
