A bit of a slow day today, working on two clients proposals and a few internal meetings. Clients are beginning their holiday season, which can be a blessing and a curse. • Dress Shirt — DS-010 (Charles Tyrwhitt): White cotton spread collar with bird's eye twill pattern and French cuffs. Non-iron finish with adjustable square-edge French cuffs perfect for cufflink presentation on video. Mother of pearl buttons and 5.5" spread collar complement the suit's formality. Formality score 5/5 — board meeting ready. • Slacks — SL-016 (Peter Millar): Gray wool trousers with regular cuffs, part of a matched suit pair with SJ-007. Canadian-made with classic belt anchors. The neutral gray provides the perfect foundation for a polished VC appearance. • Suit Jacket — SJ-007 (Peter Millar): Gray wool with subtle textured tiny lines, 2-button single-breasted with notched lapels and dual rear vents. Left slot chest pocket with paired flap hip pockets and interior wallet + ticket pockets. Tailored in Q4-2025 for optimal fit. Matches perfectly with SL-016 for a complete suit presentation. • Necktie — NT-023 (Fort Belvedere): Navy wool challis with white polka dots in 3-fold construction. Self-tipped at 57" length with 3.5" width and keeper loop. The classic pattern reads perfectly on camera while the wool challis texture adds visual depth without distraction. • Belt — B-001 (Hanks): Black leather Highlined belt with silver buckle, top/bottom edge stitching, and pill-shaped holes. Removable buckle in single collar style. The black leather and silver hardware coordinate seamlessly with the formal ensemble. • Footwear — DSh-009 (TLB Mallorca): Black box-calf leather whole cut Oxford on the Goya last (Model 307). Spanish-made with Goodyear welt construction, beveled waist, and brass heel tacks (3x3). Closed-channel leather sole with 5 eyelets per side. The elegant whole cut design delivers board-meeting formality — a true artisan piece from Mallorca. Formality score 5/5.

One of my client’s lost her 88 year old mother in a car accident. I chose to go with a medium grey MTM suit and a black belt, black OTC socks, black shoes and a black band on my 1940’s Bulova. While I am at the age where funerals have become much more common, tragedy’s such as these are even more sad for family’s.

More open quarters? How to achieve them?
I hope you aren't tired of my "asking for bespoke advice" topics yet. 😉 The final issue for my bespoke suit for now is the openness of the quarters. I wanted them more open to elongate my leg line as much as I can. The tailor already made them a bit more open since the previous fitting. However, I'm under the impression that it's still not enough. So the tailor tried pulling the quarters more open. You can see the "before and after" photos below for comparison between the current and possibly even more open angle. What do you guys think? I'm also under the impression that it's not just about the angle of quarters, but also their shape (which the tailor hasn't modified so far). These quarters are still a bit "square", instead of having their corners more rounded (more "cutaway") like in Italian jackets. (See third photo for an example of very open and rounded quarters to illustrate what I mean.) Do you agree? At this point, would you increase the openness angle, quarter shape, both, or perhaps neither?
More open quarters? How to achieve them?
