Frugal, functional, yet elevated monochrome outfit
I was on a hiatus for a while for personal reasons. I am happy to be back and contribute and learn in this community. THE CONTEXT: Yesterday was a date night with my dear wife. The weather at my place (Hyderabad in India) now is pleasant with occasional rains (with the temperature hovering around 26 deg. C). I am building a wardrobe which is utilitarian with high-quality interchangeable pieces, yet frugal. I resort often to the somewhat understated menswear layering method of using trucker jackets. I also love the elegance of a monochromatic outfit. I am (for the first time) using a bandana to bring a pop of color to the outfit. All of these ideas have materialized in the following OOTD. Your feedback is most welcome! 1. The classic trucker jacket is made of corduroy in a camel hue. It is (I think almost always) completely unlined and unstructured but gives that casual aesthetic flair. It provides a neat silhouette on the shoulder by augmenting the muscular appeal without looking too stiff or unnatural. 2. The Tee is in light tan hue in medium weight and 100% cotton. 3. The trousers are chinos MTM in a bronze shade. These are mid-rise (unfortunately, I did not realize the specialty of a pair of high-rise pants until very recently; I have now ordered a new pair with a high- waist cut, which is coming soon to my wardrobeπ) 4. The belt is in saddle tan. 5. The watch has a tan strap with a gold-steel rim. 6. The bracelet is strung with tiger eye semi-precious stones in natural brown (they add to the charm without compromising the aesthetic). 7. The bandana is in a traditional block print (22 inch X 22 inch) in 100% cotton and is light weight, styled as a neck tie. 8. Not seen, the shoes are nubuck loafers in tan. I am not wearing socks. In summary, the outfit in a warm tone is neatly balanced with a delicate combination of intentionally chosen brown hues. The bandana adds a dash of style (which is my personality). I also love to stay hands-free while moving around to help with my shopping chores (which helps my wife immensely). So, I am using a full-grain leather cross-body messenger bag to carry the essentials. This one packs a punch; I have put my wallet, mobile, water bottle, umbrella, face towel, sanitizer, wet tissues, pen, and key purse, and it is not complaining π.
