Truffaux Hatmakers - A Deal Worth Sharing...
I currently have two Panama hats from Truffaux Hatmakers - The Meridien (image #2) & The Blue Valentine (image #3). I've had The Meridien for over two years, and The Blue Valentine for a few months. When I ordered that one, I also ordered The Mandrake (image #4), but it was backordered and should be arriving in a few days (at last note it was on a plane). A couple of days ago, I got an email from Truffaux about a sale - and a great one at that: 25% off all Panama hats! So, naturally, I ordered two more. 😁 I ordered The Marakesh (image #5) and The Casablanca Fedora (image #6), but for that one I opted to upgrade to a deluxe burgundy ribbon. Even though the hats are listed in basic sizes, when Oska knows your exact head size, he chooses one specifically for you - taking into account how much the hat is expected to shrink. For this order, Oska is also lengthening each hat into a long oval for my head shape. This service is a $1 (yes, one dollar) add-on with a hat purchase. The ribbon upgrade was $30. You can also add feathers to your hats if you desire (which I usually do). My first experience with Truffaux was asking for advice, using the email link from the website. Out of the four or five he recommended for my face shape, I chose The Meridien. Obviously, I was not disappointed... So, if you want to take advantage of this sale, here's what I recommend: Step 1: Visit Truffaux Hatmakers to get an idea of their offerings. Step 2: Optionally, email Oska ([email protected]) a picture of your face, asking for recommendations. Step 3: Order your favorite hat or hats in the size you think is correct, using coupon code RESTLESS25. Step 4: Reply to the follow-up email about getting your size correct with your actual head size. (Centimeters is preferred, use a flexible tape to measure. You can follow this guide.)

Celebration of life instead of death
So Tommorow is my cousins showing and funeral . While usually I’d wear black and white im actually going against it this time but want your feedback on this. I know down south where I grew up we celebrated the life of the person with music and dancing and a ton Of food and enjoyment . Im starting to wonder if the closeness or the person whom passed or maybe it’s time to change up the color to not be so idk if the word is depressing or not. I know spiritually I understand that even at a wedding people tend to wear black and white . I have quit a few options of things to wear considering my preaching suits as well as my new to me 7 newer preaching suits . So my question is to you all would be if you were celebrating someone’s life what colors would you consider wearing ?
Help to settle a “Discussion”
So gents, Ive been having a “discussion” with my wife about Chelsea boots. I have these two pairs currently; the polished dark tan ones are my dressier boots for evenings, dinners and some more formal occasions, often paired with navy or beige chinos and appropriately coloured button down. The darker brown pair in the muted matte finish are my more casual daytime boots for things like casual lunches, or even maybe a weekend shopping trip etc, and I’ll often wear them with indigo jeans or my more rugged olive chinos (my fave combo), a long sleeve Henley, or t-shirt and overshirt, and I absolutely love wearing them. Here’s the thing though; my wife reckons that because they’re boots, both pairs are automatically formal wear, and should only be worn for formal occasions, and consequently I almost feel shamed out of wearing the darker ones for any kind of casual situation. I’d love to hear your thoughts to help clarify the situation in my own mind if nothing else. I have also got a pair of sand coloured desert boots on order for spring/summer casual wear, and I’ll be getting a pair of Thursday boots Captains soon too, for a more rugged look (can you tell I’m starting to really get into boots 😉). Oh, and for context, as I’m in Australia, I’m currently living through the cold Victorian winter.
