A small delivery showed up today from Fort Belvedere and suddenly my closet started acting a little more sophisticated. Picked up a pair of grenadine ties in navy and burgundy—rich texture, classic colors, and just enough depth to make even a simple white shirt feel intentional. These things have the kind of quiet elegance that doesn’t scream for attention… but absolutely expects to be noticed. Now the real challenge begins: deciding which sports coat gets promoted to first-string duty this week. Somehow a man buys two ties and immediately starts standing in front of the mirror like he’s preparing for a board meeting at 10 and a cigar lounge reservation at 7. Any pairing suggestions?

If you aren't willing to admit you know very little about anything… How can you ever really learn anything? This story actually starts last week. Before Robin’s warm up the youth at the church had a band practice for performance this week. I told the young gentlemen of the group I would pick up ties for them if they would wear white dress shirts. They agreed and I asked them what kind of ties they would like and they said bow ties. I was surprised and after service last Sunday I went over to Jo’s. A. Banks and bought five blue boat ties off of the clearance rack. I also picked up five of the “How To Tie A Tie” pamphlets as well. I meant to conduct a small class to teach them how to tie their ties but I ended op just tying rhe ties myself. Once we got the ties on them the youth group had a quick practice and we did a quick impromptu photo session. After that the four older boys went down to the gym and played some basketball I. There dress shirts and ties. Unfortunately I did not have my iPad to snap a picture. The teens played their piece during the service and I snapped a couple of pictures. Finally, Robin snapped a picture of me as we were leaving with me wearing a classic blue blazer with grey trousers combination.

So after church we ran to Gabe’s and they happened to have the ariat desert camo leather belt that matches my ariat desert camo boots, cap and vest, so now that whole look will be complete And wife got me light purple cuff links and I don’t own anything purple so took care of that as well
