How do you know you slept well? 🤔
I've been guilty of deciding what my day would be like based on the sleep score on my (now retired) Oura ring. 🫥
Somewhere around 80? Yeah, fine. 🤝
60-70? I’d spend the morning telling myself I was going to be tired, and then, lo and behold, I would feel tired. 🥱
Some days I would be in the high 90s range and still feel like I’d been dragged through the mud.
These days I pay more attention to how I feel around 3 pm.
If my breathing is deep and smooth, if I am not inexplicably irritable, and if I get through the afternoon dip without needing a nap, the night was probably somewhere in the good to great range.
Most of the people I work with come in with a clear idea of what good sleep is **supposed** to look like. Usually it’s an hour count or a score on an app, and a lot of the stress around sleep comes from measuring themselves against it.
But what is often missing is the very personal and embodied awareness of the signals of health (or lack thereof) that our body gives us all the time.
If we pay attention.
So I’m curious...how do you know you slept well? ⬇️
If I wake up before my alarm
Based on the time spent asleep
Based on my afternoon state
If my watch/wearable tells me I did
