Welcome First Time Marathoners!
Hey everyone - welcome to the My First Marathon community! The first thing I want you to know is the thought of running a marathon doesn't cross most people's mind, so the fact that you're taking this chance on yourself means you're doing something incredible for yourself. We don't take that lightly, and you shouldn't either. You should be SO PROUD of yourself for even taking that leap of faith! Here's the details & expectations of the group! - Be kind! There will be a lot of first timers here working their way through running their first marathons just like you. When discussions come up, be thoughtful and kind with your answers. - Be supportive & active! Post your training stories, questions, and successes/set backs as much as you choose! We want this to be a helpful and interactive experience for all. - Have fun! The running community is the best group of people I know - let's show eachother that love. - When the First Marathon Buddy Course launches on 2/9, you'll have the opportunity to start your monthly membership and gain access to a ton of resources like a 20-week course meant to help you make sense of your own training plan, access to a private Strava built for first timers, and access to bi-monthly Q&A style calls to help guide you along your journey. Stay tuned for more info! To kick things off - please share the story of your running journey and which marathon you're choosing as your first so we can get to know you! Thanks for being here, I'm so excited for this to launch 🧡 -Taylor
Fueling
I was wondering if anyone would have any good book suggestions on fueling. I really want to learn more about fueling my body before, during, and after my runs. Thank you in advance.
Wednesday wins!
Happy hump day yall! Share your wins from this week below, big or small! I’ll start - did a very uncomfy speed workout on Monday and hit more of the paces than I expected :) Your turn! 👇
My running story
Hey everyone! I'm Heather, from Cochrane Alberta Canada 🇨🇦 I'm a lifelong runner, starting with runs with my Mom then leading to sprinting & track, when I was a teenager I stopped running for 4 years as I was diagnosed with endometriosis and didn't start running again until that felt managed. By my 20th birthday I was running again and with a new best friend, my dog. In this time I survived a violent DV situation. Not realizing that our daily 10k runs would lead me to understand I'm an endurance runner. I started to run half marathons (I now run marathons) in his honor while I was facing my own serious health battles. I know what it's like to show up during different phases of life, in a different body, with fear while managing a business. I also know what's on the other side of showing up - finding yourself! I'm 37 currently going on 38 so I've almost earned my master runner title! Happy to help in any way that I can, if anything I've learned along the way is going to help anyone - I feel that's why I learned it. Thanks for having me!

Happy Monday!
Hi yall! Super stoked to join this group after recently finding this podcast. I am a former athlete who’s found her home in the gym with lifting but has always wanted to run a marathon. My cousin ran her first last year and is finally getting me over that hump to run one with her. Shooting for Milwaukee Lakefront on October 4th!
Happy Monday!
