Hey team, Happy Tuesday!! 🙌🏽 Anyone racing in Rotterdam this week?! I’m very intrigued about this layout. It seems to be a strategic one with all the turns. In this type of courses, I would definitely advise our athletes to pace well the laps, and focus on stations and roxzone. But I’m happy to chat through it in case there is anyone racing! Just gimme a shout here! But I would love to hear your opinion too. What would be your strategy for a course like this?

Last night’s London EMEA Regionals showed just how fast the level of HYROX is moving right now. Men’s Race: Hidde Weersma stole the show with a world record 52:42 and looked in control from the early stages. The pace at the front of the men’s field right now is on another level and if you want to be competitive in Elite 15, the bar has just been raised again. Women’s Race: The women’s race was extremely tight, with Sinead Bent taking the win ahead of Seka Arning and Emilie Dahmen, all finishing under the 59-minute mark. The depth in the women’s field now is very real and races are being decided in the final stations. Who got a qualifying spot: • Tomas Tvrdik • Seka Arning The Deciding Moments: The races were really decided late: • Final run pace • Transitions • Wall balls under fatigue There was also some controversy in the women’s race around wall ball judging at the end, which just shows that at this level, every rep matters and small mistakes can cost major positions and World Championship spots. Big Takeaway: HYROX is no longer being won just on engine alone ...it’s efficiency, compromised running and how well you can execute stations when your heart rate is maxed. The 2nd of 3 regional championships goes down tonight, with only 1 qualifying spot per race for the World Championships in Stockholm! With several athletes already qualified, the pressure is on as the remaining contenders compete to secure their spot! (Qualifying times are based on the average of each athlete's 2 best Pro results over the past year).
