Blessed Sunday morning to the Fragrance Family. As I prepare to head out for worship on this first Sunday of 2026, I’m filled with gratitude for another day and another year to get it right. Chicago is showing a bit of grace this morning with a beautiful start to the day, still winter-fresh but noticeably less cold than we’ve grown used to. There’s something peaceful about stepping into Sunday with a clear mind, a thankful heart, and the promise of renewal that worship brings. Praying everyone has a blessed, grounded, and joy-filled Sunday wherever you are. For today’s scent of the day, I’m wearing Radical Rose Extrait by Matiere Premiere, and this is a first wear, first impression. Right away, it’s clear that this extrait is a very different experience compared to the EDP version. The rose here feels deeper, richer, and far more intense, with a darker, more luxurious character that immediately commands attention. It’s bold without being abrasive, refined yet powerful, and it carries a seriousness that feels perfectly suited for a reflective Sunday morning. The projection is outstanding from the opening, announcing itself confidently but tastefully, while the sillage is absolutely amazing, leaving a dense, elegant trail that lingers beautifully in the air. So far, performance has been fantastic as well, with the scent holding its richness and depth without thinning out or fading quickly. This extrait feels like a statement piece, a rose done with authority and intention, and it already feels special on skin. At this early stage, I’m giving Radical Rose Extrait an initial rating of 9.0. I’m looking forward to seeing how it continues to develop throughout the day, but first impressions are extremely strong.
