Gentlemen’s Nod are they worth looking into?
I have been deeply intrigued by Gentleman’s Nod, an American fragrance house based in Nebraska. They began as a shave soap and aftershave company but have since evolved into an artisan fragrance house collaborating with world-class perfumers—including a notable partnership with Zaharoff. I recently ordered four samples from their catalog of over 19 fragrances, and the customer service was exceptional. The shipping was fast, and the order arrived in a sturdy, well-branded box. To my surprise, they included four additional samples as a gift. They also took the time to include a handwritten thank-you note that named the person who packaged my order. In this case it may have been the owner Chris. These small, personal gestures truly make me want to support a small business that goes above and beyond. The Sample Lineup My Selections: • Toro Bravo: A bold, spirited fragrance featuring notes of bright citrus, warm spices, and a rugged leather finish. • Musashi: A meditative and complex blend of exotic woods, incense, and subtle hints of tea. • Damascus: A sophisticated, metallic-edged scent inspired by ancient steel, balanced with rich resins and spice. • Kensei: A vibrant, uplifting composition centered on Japanese citrus (Yuzu) and green, aromatic tea notes. The Bonus Samples: • Outlaw: A rebellious and smoky fragrance with a core of rugged leather, tobacco, and earthy undertones. • Mizukaze: A crisp, refreshing scent meant to evoke a cold mountain breeze, featuring mint, pine, and aquatic notes. • Juniper Reverie: A bright, gin-like botanical blend highlighted by sharp juniper berries and fresh forest greens. • Tusitala: A tropical and adventurous fragrance that mixes exotic fruits with warm, sun-drenched woods. I haven't tried them all yet, but between this and the haul I received from The Hellenist, I’m looking forward to a busy two weeks of sniffing; regardless of the scents, the stellar service has ensured I'll be supporting this house in the future!
