A question for the experienced brothers: Several weeks ago I tried Givenchy Gentleman Society Reserve Privée because everyone says it's the top of the Givenchy line. I really disliked it, but I couldn't figure out why. Today I tried a sample of MFK's Grand Soir. And I really dislike it, too, in pretty much the same way as Reserve Privée. I'm wondering if it's the amber note I don't like? But I don't really know what amber smells like so I can't be sure. Are there other popular designer fragrances that are strong amber scents so I can try to figure out what it is I don't like? I would love to get a kit from somewhere to let me experience scents in isolation to pin down my likes and dislikes.

Savannah - another peach-forward scent to add to the growing list of peach fragrances being released to the market this year. Top Notes: Sun Ripened Georgia Peach, Ruby Grapefruit Zest Heart Notes: Tropical Fruit Nectar, Southern Jasmine, Ripe Red Berry Accord Base Notes: Soft Amber, White Suede, Silk Musk I feel like I already have a peach scent with Imaginary Authors, so I will probably pass on this one for now. The other notes don't really appeal to me, either. I'll wait for the reviews on this. DC - Fruity florals with pear and cherry leading the way. Top Notes: Anjou Pear, Pink Pepper, Wild Cherry, Sakura Petals Heart Notes: White Magnolia, Star Jasmine Base Notes: Red Amber, Ivory Cedarwood, Vanilla Silk I don't know. It's not wowing me. I might pick it up if it gets high reviews, but I'm not a big Jasmine fan. This one is a definite sample / decant first for me.
