NICHE vs. DESIGNER — Which Side Are You On?
This is one of the oldest debates in the fragrance world - and opinions run HOT. NICHE FRAGRANCES: Crafted by independent houses obsessed with artistry over mass appeal. Think Amouage, Creed, Serge Lutens. Bold, complex, unapologetically unique. You wear niche and you know no one else in the room is wearing the same thing. But you're paying for the privilege. DESIGNER FRAGRANCES — The Chanels, the Diors, the Tom Fords. Masterfully blended, backed by decades of heritage, and worn by people who know what they're doing. Dior Sauvage and Bleu de Chanel are bestsellers for a reason — they're refined, proven, and never embarrassing. The debate: Is niche fragrance the pinnacle of personal expression — or is it overpriced elitism dressed up as art? And are designer houses underrated gems hiding in plain sight? Tell us: Team Niche or Team Designer? Vote below šŸ‘‡ — and tell me which house or specific fragrance makes your case? Roast the other camp respectfully — this is a gentleman's debate after all. šŸ˜„

Superdrug UK Perfume Pods - One Time Free Fill Offer
Quick note for UK peeps who might not be aware. Superdrug offer a service where they’ll give you a free fill from a curated fragrance selection on purchase of a Perfume Pod (a 5ml travel atomiser). The pod costs Ā£8. Apparently, it’s everything but ā€œpremiumā€ fragrances, but some stores are more loose with that definition than others. It’s also dependant on what testers they have. I bought one yesterday, and got a free 5ml of Stronger With You Absolutely. There were many others of interest to me too. Worth a look!

Review and SOTD: Feel N Chill by Jusbox
After yesterday's disappointing Feather Supreme, today was the turn of Feel N Chill. It's an aquatic fresh scent with a bunch of fruit at the top and a musky green at the bottom. I have a love / hate relationship with aquatic scents. Conceptually? Two thumbs up from this guy. I am enamoured by all things wet. I embrace the rain, I'm never dehydrated, and the only cardio I can stomach is swimming. My mantra is moist. Liquid is my life. Sadly, the feeling is not reciprocated. Feel N Chill opens with a pleasant fruit burst, with a watermelon core that's complemented by a herbal bergamot tang. Cardamom adds intrigue, and for a while, all is gangbusters. It's bright, it's fresh, it's spicy, and it's aquatic. Then, without rhyme or reason, all the nuance just... disappears. It's my skin's fault, I'm sure of it. It has a deep and abiding hatred for anything aquatic. Try as I might, every overzealous slather simply fades to an indistinct smear before an hour is up. And even though it's the water in the watermelon which informs this aquatic scent, there's no real difference here. The top fades away all too quickly, leaving a skin scent with traces of the mid. Of the listed notes at this juncture, it's the pine needle that has the most impact, as that does apply itself to the the rest of the smell's lifespan. As for the fig... it's there, but it's hardly Philosykos. When we hit the drydown, there's a little more success on the report card. Musk, vetiver, amber, all pretty standard and uninspiring, but when it's tempered with the fading pine needle it accentuates the vetiver green and brings a little excitement. It's a pleasant dry, but it's quite close, and at times it's a struggle to hold onto the profile as it fades into the background a little too readily. For me, it's another NO on the Is It Bottle Worthy scale. Shame, really, as there are aspects to enjoy... but I can't get past the gaping void that my skin impresses onto the profile. If you're a fan of aquatics, and they love you back, give this one a whirl.

Boss Bottled Absolu
I purchased a sample quite some time ago. I tried it when I first got it and I was very impressed. Months later, I have it a full wear (today). I see how it can be compared to red tobacco and Carlisle because it's in that space. However, it smells like a designer take on both. Definitely more rounded and mass appealing, but for me, it doesn't have the depth or complexity of Carlisle. Doing the side by side, it seems to me like Carlisle is much darker and mysterious and the dry down on the Absolu starts to smell a bit more like Layton. Still a lovely fragrance, but do any of you get this Layton dry down too? I'm curious..
