A&F was never really a thing in Ireland, I came across this one in on a Pharmacy discount shelf of all places. Seems to marketed towards the younger chaps, its a rather plesant and cheap fragrance launched in 2019 from the perfumer Clement Gavarry. It opens up with a nice burst of Citrus and holds a green vibe with some wood & spice throughout. But it also has that soapy shower gel thing going on. It all kicks of with a bright, energizing opening, dominated by a tonic of grapefruit and bergamot. This is sharpened wit the subtle heat of pink pepper. As the fragrance transitions into the heart, it takes on an aromatic, slightly spicy character through a blend of ginger, clary sage & lavender. This middle has a freshness that is both herbal & clean. The dry-down settles into a warm, masculine base where clearwood & moss provide an earthy foundation, while a distinct note of soft suede adds a smooth texture that lingers on the skin. In terms of performance, Authentic is a relatively intimate fragrance with moderate projection. It creates a pleasant scent bubble without being overpowering, making it an excellent choice for office environments or casual close encounters. Its longevity is not great generally lasting 3 to 4 hours. Given its bright citrus and aromatic profile, it is best suited for the spring and summer months, performing exceptionally well in high heat. It is an ideal "everyday" fragrance, perfect for gym sessions etc. I quite like this one, its a fresh everyday scent that makes a change from the CK style of scents. Whilst performance may not be great, at this price, we can cope with that, oh it has a powerful atomiser and magnetic cap. My Rating 6.5/10 Scent 2 Longevity 2 Sillage 1.5 Y/N 1

This was never a go too for me but last summer, I begun exploring more summer friendly options, this stood out in the ME category and it has grown on me. It's an extrait, and should wear longer, so they say? It was a popular release in 2024 from the UAE-based house founded by Mohamed Iqbal Abdul Sattar. It's a tropical, aromatic-woody fragrance, said to be an alternative to the DNA of Jean Paul Gaultier’s Le Beau Le Parfum, IMO Paradise Garden would be the better option. Island begins with a vibrant opening featuring pineapple, iris, ginger & cypress. The pineapple provides a juicy, tropical brightness that is immediately balanced by the powdery elegance of iris & a spicy, energizing kick from the ginger. As the fragrance transitions into the heart, it reveals a creamy exotic core, dominated by coconut & woodsy notes, for that sensation of a sun-kissed beach. This mid-phase is smooth & lactonic, avoiding the synthetic suntan lotion feel often found in tropical scents. The dry-down settles into a warm base of tonka bean, amber, sandalwood, & ambergris, which adds a salty, skin-like depth & a lingering sweetness that keeps the fragrance grounded. In terms of performance, Island despite the extrait claim lasts 6hrs on my skin, and a little longer on clothing. The projection is moderate for the first 90m creating a noticeable scent bubble without being cloying. Given its tropical and creamy profile, Island is best suited for the spring & summer months, though its woody/amber base allows it to transition well into early autumn. It is a versatile choice for casual daytime outings, vacation wear, or even an office setting where its clean, breezy character can shine without overpowering the room. Sauvage elixir I’m wearing this tonight for my wife’s birthday dinner. It’s a cool spring night in the northeast and this is just hitting. I love the combination of spice and powder and the sandalwood. I just want to swim in this stuff.
