How do you pick your Scent of the Day... (re-up'd)
Hey guys, Joe A. here with another one for ya’. Let’s talk about one of the great daily decisions in this hobby: the Scent of the Day. Sounds simple enough… until your collection starts creeping past a handful of bottles and suddenly you’re standing there in the morning staring at the shelf like you’re trying to solve a math problem before coffee. Ya' know, some guys keep it simple. They’ve got a tight little rotation, maybe five or six bottles, and they just cycle through them like clockwork. Others organize the whole thing by season or weather. When it’s blazing hot outside, the fresh citrus and aquatics come out. When winter rolls in, the woods, spices and ambers get their turn. Makes perfect sense. Now for the guys with hundreds of bottles… well, that’s where it gets interesting. I’ve seen some folks who actually plan their SOTDs a week in advance. They’ll look at the calendar and think about everything coming up: work meetings, date nights, gym days, weekend errands, even the weather forecast. Monday might be a clean office scent, Wednesday a confidence booster for a big meeting, Friday something fun for heading out after work. It’s almost like setting your wardrobe for the week, except the outfit is invisible. And then… there’s the chaos method. You walk up to the shelf, close your eyes and go “eeny, meeny, miny, moe.” Whatever the finger lands on gets the spray that day. No strategy, no forecasting, just fate and atomizer! Truth be told, I’ve probably done all of the above at one time or another. That’s the beauty of this hobby, there’s no wrong way to do it. What say you, guys? How do you choose your SOTD? Are you a planner, a seasonal organizer, a rotation guy, or a “grab whatever looks good today” kind of fraghead? And be honest… has anyone here ever stood in front of their collection for ten minutes trying to decide? Love to hear from ya’!

SOTD / Review: Creed Wild Vetiver
Review on Sample received last week. The initial opening is a floral and slightly spicy scent. At 15 minutes I am picking up some citrus notes from the Bergamot and continue to smell the floral and slightly spiciness of the fragrance. At 30 minutes the fragrance continues to settle downand smoothen out. I am still getting the floral notes, and adding a slightly fruity scent, but the spiciness has settled down significantly. 60 minutes into the wear, the Vetiver has definitely come out as the dominant note and is very well blended with the floral and fruity notes from the Heart of the fragrance. The dry down of this fragrance is a very well blended woody scent with hints of florals and sweetness. Performance: Projection of this fragrance is OK with the fragrance creating a scent bubble of about 2 feet for about 90 minutes. The sillage is OK as well with a scent trail of about 2.5 feet for about 90 minutes. Logevity is actually fair with the fragrance lasting on my skin about 4 to 5 hours, but becoming a skin scent at about 3 hours. This is a very nice scent, but for me it is not FBW due to some redundancies with other fragrance in my collection like Roja's Elysium, FDB Lucius, and PDM Shagya.
