sotd Happyland Green Irish Tobacco
At home, sick, to start the week, but I want to continue my deep dive into Happyland Studios. They have very interesting creations, and most smell good to great. Performance varies, but everything seems to have a presence for at least 5 hours before becoming a skin scent. This morning I applied Green Irish Tobacco (the atomizer is jacked up, so it spit a fair amount of liquid onto my arms and I patted it onto my jawline.) It is intended to share some similarities with Green Irish Tweed, but it's been a long time since I smelled that one, so I can't really compare the two. This opens with an interesting, great smelling, bright, moderately sweet lemon. Like a hard candy, not tart, also with a camphorous characteristic at the open. The violet leaves contribute a green and slightly floral note. The tobacco, vanilla and tonka aren't rich or distinctive, but they combine to deliver a soothing, pillowy soft texture, with a bit of warmth. Everything is well blended and very civilized. Not groundbreaking, but very nice. Moderate proj & sillage for 2 hrs, then a 1 hr scent bubble to the 5 hr mark, and a nice skin scent afterward. This feels casual to me, but you can probably wear it anywhere. It doesn't have any thick or heavy properties, so I expect it to do alright in the warm sunshine, but maybe not extreme heat. Enjoy brothers!
